My Son did something wrong and angrily I slapped him in the ear/cheek in annoyance, that was about a week ago, just yesterday, we noticed dried blood in the ear, same thing this midnight also, though he is playing very well and does not complain of any pain in the said ear, but I am worried.

Take him to the hospital. He's still very young for self diagnosis.

General hospital is preferable, ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) department will check it and know what's wrong.
I suggested General Hospital because it's cheaper.

What exactly are people supposed to do or help you with? Don't you know your way to the hospital? You're not a very smart or sensible person.

I know, I will take him to hospital, but I just want to hear if possible someone has experienced that before so at least to allay my fear before taking him to hospital by Monday.

You were watching out for him but in the process caused more damage to the boy, next time sit him down and let him know why he must not do it and the dangers he will encounter doing that and after everything ask him if he will like to get himself injured and feel pain, he will probably say no, and next time he will likely not do it or be careful while at it, also note that he must have been watching people somewhere doing that, remember Olympic just finished few months ago, he must have seen and learnt a lot... In all learn to control your temper and if you must punish, don't let it be instantaneous, rather call him, talk to him and give him reason for the punishment he is about to receive...

Internal bleeding is not a joke and you are wasting valuable time on this thread seeking the opinions and experiences of others, when a Doctor can quickly tell you what you need to know and squash any fears you have.

Apologies for saying you're not smart or sensible, I was pissed at you and I think I still am because you need to get off the internet and take your child to the hospital.

If you can't afford a hospital right now, call a healthcare professional in your network (nurse or doctor) explain the situation and ask them for their professional opinion, any possible home remedies or medication you need to get from a pharmacy.

And I just saw where you are still talking about waiting until Monday to take him to the hospital . What kind of parenting are you doing like this?

Thank you ma. I have asked my wife to take him to the hospital. We are even on NHIS, but I just didn't want her to go without any financial commitment and moreso, I wanted to hear opinion of people if I can still actually wait till Monday as the boy is even still playing as if nothing happened....

Did you create this thread here in Family Section to beat your chest about slapping your 5year old then?
Go see a doctor now so you can at least be sure of what the matter is with the blood in his ears, and resolve it on time, if possible..

You should worry more about not letting your hand jail you next time you repeat such to an outsider and the person died on the spot....
