Baba, let me answer your last question before I delve into the first. It is quite difficult to see but based on current situation and if everyone stays healthy, it has to be between the Nets (Even without Kyrie) / Lakers.

Now, to your 1st post. There is no place for a gentleman agreement in medicine development, it doesn't exist. So, I will try to summarize the process of patent a much as I can. Please be aware that this is just a shortened explanation because I fit write book if I try to explain am in details.

Lets use Pfizer/ Johnson & Johnson and Moderna as an examples.. All 3 get approval from the government (through the FDA) to commence research into the development of a vaccine or medication for a disease/ illness. All 3 will spend billions of dollars into the research and development of a medication or a vaccine in such a short span with people dying, please note that research and development of medicine is extremely expensive. It is only right that the government grant all 3 a specified number of years to keep their respective vaccines as a brand (protecting the patent) so they can recover the money spent in the research and development of the vaccine/ medication.

Most times, especially for novel cases like this, the FDA grants them 20 years. During this period, all 3 will have exclusive rights to the development of the medication or vaccine. They will also bear the responsibilities/ consequences that come with the vaccine, including lawsuits. After the expiry of the patent right, other pharmaceutical companies can now apply to the FDA to use similar components of the brand to develop a generic one which is cheaper. So you see, for the most part, all 3 pharmaceutical companies have done all the hard work and spent all the money in research which makes it easy for others to create a generic one after the expiry of the patent.

This is why you have Brand and Generic medications. For example, Tylenol is the Brand while Acetaminophen is the Generic name, both have similar components but the generic is cheaper. Prozac is a Brand name while Fluoxetine is the Generic, Zyprexa is the Brand while Olanzapine is the generic. Many people still prefer brand names because of side effects and questions about effectiveness of generic medications.

This hill that people like you are ready to die on self. These drugs are produced by big pharma, which are all for profit corporations. So my big ask is, if these drugs are viable why are these companies not pushing the FDA to approve or even carry out trials on them. We are talking about hundreds of millions if not billion dollars profit here. If the people who can make huge profits from the approval of these drugs are not fighting for said drugs to be approved, what does that tell us. There is one solid fact in a capitalist society and that is 'follow the money'. There is money to be made if all these drugs are approved, but no one i repeat no pharma company is pushing or submitting their version as a possible cure. but people who have nothing to gain from the approval of the drugs, somehow think they know better.

PS: Vaccines when they work lead to the eradication of the disease, which is not the focus of big pharma.
It has been shown that Big pharma have purposely over the years refused to pursue cures for disease, but will rather pursue treatment/management drugs to ensure that their customers continue to buy their products. So please tell me between these drugs and the Vaccines which one fits their modus operandi?
Finally bill gates and his vaccine cabal get paid whether people take the vaccine or not, actually it is in their interest that people do not take them quickly because since they are paid based on quantity supplied and the Vaccines have a very short shelf life. The more Vaccines they can supply because people refuse to take them and they expire the more money they make. So it seems it's you that has not followed the money.

khanben what you dont know is, when people see that they can actually live and go about their normal lifes without the vaccine. Then the relevancy starts to dwindle, thereby reducing the need for govt to even buy the vaccine in the 1st place.

Having said that my opinion is that there is a reason a phenomenon like the anti vaxxers movement is on the rise. The reason:
Medical science failed us, simple.

One, nearly 5 million corona dead worldwide with all the trillions government and corporations are channelling into medical science. Big fail.

Which accounts for the rising level of distrust and suspicion and the willingness to seek other forms of medical help we are beginning to witness.

Have these deaths with any other unorthodox or alternative health methodology and the uproar would have deafened this universe.

Two, the much reported criminal collusion between big pharma and medical experts over the years should be thoroughly investigated and made public.

Trust is waning and questions are now being asked. That's what happens when experts and big pharma continuously manipulate research data to amass profit. People are beginning to question medical science and rightfully so.

As usual the white coat spell will not allow many of us question the medical profession on the rot in the system and why they failed the Corona big test. Big pharma and doctors are gods. Infallible. How dare you even think it to question them?

Having said that anti vaxxers are all over the place with their argument and their research. Big money NGOs should be set up to probe Big pharma and medical science and come up with more credible research as well as advance solutions to avert another repeat of this great Corona catastrophe.

Massive research funding should be provided for alternative health methodologies and the possibility of high level collaborations between medical science and alternative health methodologies explored.

This is not me invoking a landslide on medicine. They are doing a whole world of good and saving lives in many situations and aspects and we still need them but there is a decadence in the system that needs a putsch and reevaluation and yes we must ensure a repeat of this Corona deluge does not happen again.

We need a medical system we can trust again.

I believe this is partly behind some of the frustrations of many anti-vaxxers.

And no I am not an anti-vaxxer.

We may as well stop using insulin and statins, stop childhood vaccination etc because big pharma makes money from it .. What a joke.
