They are but it hasn't solved it...
Tema does not have traffic...The motorway has....

The problem is, every year, car ownership increase by a massive number as young people join the middle class... But the roads can't widen up..

The demographic of people owning cars current are not the ones who are willing to park their cars and join public transport...

Moving around with public transport is super expensive..
An in and out journey from Kasoa to Tema cost 30 cedis. Meanwhile if I move my car, a journey like that is convenient and will only cost me less than 70 for fuel...
My young sis spend 25 cedis a day in and out to UPSA... So I will most definitely use my car to drop her off when ever I'm around because it is cost effective and convenient..

BRT, monorail, Sky train and etc will not solve that unless they are willing to drop fares below...
They won't be able to drop fares because transport unions will protest and sue on unfair practice grounds.

Now tell me which you prefer ....
Upsa should be thinking technological.

Your sis should be able to join the class thru zoom meeting with less than 3 cedis data.

Kenya GDP 2010 - 40B - Kenya GDP 2020-100B. Ghana 2010 - 32 - 2020 -72B. The rest are your hallucinations. Kenya has moved from position 12 in Africa to now position 6 - by 2023 - Morocco will be seeing dust - and then Algeria by 2025.

Then the list will be "Nigeria", Egypt, South Africa and Kenya.

Just30:
grin grin

Unless Kenya GDP was growing at 100% per year for 10 years, it is impossible to grow Kenya GDP 9 times ...

Special Lunatic

It is also impossible to triple Kenya GDP especially when it was growing at less than 7% for 10 years ....

That is why the World Bank call your economy a fraud...

good you've realized how stupid your maths was grin grin

Your country will only add 5 billion dollars to it GDP this year, moving it from 98 billion to 103 billion dollars....

Even by 2025, your GDP will not catch up with that of Morocco if they even stop growing.....

The projections are mine. The maths are solid. Kenya generate 21B total revenues - that is 20 percent of GDP - as should be expected for our economy. Kenya average growth has been around 6 percent.

No country develop by growing informal sector - informal sector grows almost by default as poor people need to eke a living either way.

The way to growth is support informal sector to become micro-enterpises (SME) then to grow to medium enterprises then eventually to companies and hopefully to have them expand regionally or export - become multinationals.

Unless Ghana has a plan to convert informal trader to own a formal shop - that shop to become small supermarket - that supermarket to become small chain store - eventually national chain of stores - then expand regionally to say Togo or Nigeria - you're going nowhere.

Informal traders should be supported by providing them with credit, savings training and necessary support to grow.

The best way to do this is to organize them into cooperatives - like Kenya is doing. I can give you many examples of kenya cooperatives in many sectors - that have given small iinformal traders - the bargaining power or economies scales of big coorporation - have mobilized savings - provided credit - and have improved the fortunes of those traders - with some eventually become medium, large and even regional players.
Ghana already pass those stages . We are already formalizing the economy in many ways without eradicating or eliminating informal sectors. Value added tax is one key method.

Your country will need to come learn how informal sector works in Ghana and how Goverment support make it resilient amidst Covid-19.

Which infrastructure is in Accra? The small sewage network in CBD has been discontinued. The city is plagued with dumsor power cuts. Everywhere is dumpsite right to the beaches - the country is choking in plastic bags - and everywhere is hawker selling everything on earth - most of which are imported goods. Maybe the donated George Walker Bush Highway? Outside few areas - the rest is unplanned hodgepodge of buildings.

Give me Abdijan and Dakar any day. I think Ivory Coast is the most promising country in the entire west africa. Their civil war set them back 10yrs but they are back on track. Next would be senegal. Ghana is all talk and no show - it failed the kazikazi picture test.

Ghana only look good when compared with Nigeria. But Ivory Coast and Senegal are more progressive and promising.

true buda Abidjan is a lovely city am watching it's videos n looking at it's pictures on skyscrapercity waah it's breathtaking to me it's the most developed west African city guess it's underrated in Anglophone Africa due to language barrier with francophone Africa most English speaking African countries only talk of, or know Lagos n to some extend Accra like me here never considered Abidjan will save some mulla n visit it next year looks like a nice laid back city esp that drive by the ocean is amazing they just need to remake it into a nice promenade like Luanda Angola

Yes, development or economic growth, should manifest in good cities. It's not something you can cook figures like soviet era communism. Therefore Abdijan got it. Yes there is lack of information on francophone - Ivory Coast and Senegal are good. What help both - like kenya - they are not mineral dependant - so Nigeria natural resource curse.

most of the academia really sees too much error in formal school setup. They thought is a way of milking them dry . They rather do it by themselves.

Also too much religious activity have also made some individual anti-social. Too gentle for my liking .

South Africa has exhibited tepid economic growth over the past twenty years as well as high levels of income inequality characteristic of a middle income country growth trap. ... The paper concludes discussing the welfare outcomes on the vast majority of South Africans who are unable to participate in the economy.

OK and? Does that change the fact that our middle class has grown ten fold?

Kenya will overtake SA in about 100 years.... Not in terms of per capita but yes eventually in terms of sheer size of your economy driven by your population growth..... Just like Nigeria wink

But just like Nigeria, Kenya will forever be behind SA in terms of the things that actually matter, like infrastructure, wealth per capita, gdp per capita, hdi, technology ect ect wink

Who says forever? If Nigeria got 8 years of proper leadership like a Thabo Mbeki type of leader or a Deng or a Lee Kuan Yew or even an Awolowo we'd develop so rapidly South Africa would be left in the dust very quickly

I'm talking housing deficit gone
Power problems gone
Water problems gone

Nigeria's problems really aren't that difficult to solve if we could get a decent leader things would change and we're likely going to get one in 2023 with Moghalu as president

Again, your ignorance and arrogance is at play here again.
Let me be blunt with you, South Africa is dead and gone, it's obvious, no amount of your lies, chest beating, and conspiracy theory will change that, you are are done, and finished.
Stop dwelling on the past glory, stop having low self esteem, by forcing to push down SA past glories on us.

2021 Projected Real GDP (% Change) : 5.6
2021 Projected Consumer Prices (% Change): 6.0
Country Population: 49.801 million
