And what’s wrong if minerals account for 61% of Ghana’s exports? Is that why people are starving in Kenya? Is that why kibera is the largest slum in Africa? Is that why kenyan politicians are sooo fantastically corrupt? Is that why China is about to seize that zoo called kenya? grin

Oh dear oh dear grin

When I tell you that Ghana is reliant on mineral resources, believe me. Numbers do not lie. Gold, petroleum oils, and crude oil account for 62 percent of your export...

Before covid, Kenyan men were offering their women- wives and daughters- to tourists to have sex with. Covid decimated the tourism industry. Now, with those foreign not coming to kenya so they can sleep with your wives and daughters for a few pennies, how are you guys coping? cool Damn!

Mkenya2019:
Informal sector=poverty. Kenya also has big informal sector - but we are trying to formalize them - by growing them to become enterprise.

I dont know if you have improved - I have seen data that your private sector employs only 300k (2007 data) - while Kenya private sector is approaching 3m.

You need to grow your formal private sector.

Also avoid going into Accra on a Saturday After morning..

My brother left Nungua at 4pm in is own car and hot to Kasoa at 8pm on a Friday last week... Using Spintex

Anyway I must add, the Spintex 10 lanes road under construction is 50% complete.
And also, the 27Km Tema Nungua 10 lanes beach road is 20 to 30% complete.

Soon, the 26Km motorway expansion will start to remove the current motorway traffic..

Also, the expansion of your road that you currently use, all the way to Pokuasi will start next year..
It will start from where the current 10 or 14 lanes road converts into a 4 lanes Highway

Yeah.......i'm aware they are trying to expand pokuase Amansaman road down to nsawam but I don't know when they will start. I think they should also include connecting Accra and Kumasi with dua carriage all through.its long overdue for ghana to have her two biggest cities connecting each other with an auto route. I haven't been on the sakumono Beach Road before but pls they should be snappy on the Spintex Road,I wonder how residents of regimanuel estates are able to cope with that dust from the road construction going on there and do you know anything about the overhead bridge on the spintex ?

They are already working on the remaining 30km or 60km of the Accra Kumasi highway that is not yet dual carriage.

Cars don't use that part of the Spintex road so it is not dusty

Picture is from Regimanuel estate...

The overhead bridge at Spintex is 50% complete

Your rebasing figures .... To move from 40 to 98, your poor people should not remain as high as it is currently.... Also, unemployment should not be as high as it is currently in your country.. and this is the reason why WB and IMF called your rebased figures fraudulent..
Rebasing is a normal practice...mind you after rebasing our economy we only added 4 billion dollars.
I would like to see the said world Bank and IMF reports.

It's because of the mindset of traders in Accra.. They are profit conscious.. They are only concerned about making huge profit margin.

How come things are cheap in Kumasi, Techiman and Tamale but rather expensive in Accra even though most of the imported goods come through Tema-Accra before reaching the rest of the country.

Even products manufactured in Accra are cheaper in Kumasi than Accra.. Sea Fish is expensive in Accra than Kumasi meanwhile there's no sea in Kumasi, I mean how? undecided

Infact it's not Accra only. Things are very expensive in the entire Greater Accra Region than any other region.

plateau is just too old and with lot of dilapidated buildings from Ivory Coast constant crisis.

Anyway, I will be there again in December or January for a project.

Abidjan will be a beautiful city if it can attract the investment it require to upgrade stuffs.

Investment or no investment the city is already a beautiful one and that's why it is called petit Paris. I'm glad you will be visiting there soon, just make sure you don't limit yourself to tourist areas like plateau and cocody, move around the city proper to places like Youpougon, Rivera, Abatta down to Bingerville, you will notice a pattern that will make you write petition to the government of Ghana to take containers and kiosks off the major streets and highways grin

petit Paris is from The 80s ... It doesn't hold now because it has fallen behind..

I frequently visit there ... There are too many people moving from cocody and plataue to Accra..

I will prefer having container and kiosk at the places they are over a nasty poverty situation
