Here we go again ... Rather than de-escalating the heightened tension, the police is doing everything possible to see to a total break down of law and order.

The World is watching ...

There is hunger in the land, hoodlums are going to take advantage of every situation to cause chaos so they can loot and steal.

This is not the right time to protest. Hoodlums will hijack it and innocent people will pay.

What did the government do when innocent youths are being killed and extorted on the road....
anyway nairaland zombies are brainless set of animals.... undecided

The brainless ones are the ones supporting a brainless set of people out on the streets with no agenda. Endsars was banned over a year ago, yet you have brainless youths and some adults out on the streets again protesting about the same Endsars. The world is laughing at you people while the leaders work together for a better world. Sufferhead is killing you people slowly by slowly.

If everyone had stayed home from the several protests and detentions by IBB and General Sanni Abacha today we will not have democracy. If everyone had stayed home today Nigeria and indeed the entire Africa would have still been under British and French rule. If everyone should be afraid to die USA should have still been a colonized country by Britain. If we all shut our mouths and not protest in our homes today our wives would have lowered the bar at the family unit and run the family aground. There is a price to pay for everything. The price of rule of law is perpetual vigilance(WEF WARD)

So, how many people will have to die before things are done right?

The world have really changed from the times you mentioned. Good, we are in a democratic erra where people should have their say. But are we taking this advantage at all?

It would be a wonderful idea if the organisers come together to form a political party and get the youths and everyone who'd be interested to join so as to try to change things.
I don't have a voter's card and I've never voted before but if my suggestion should happen, I wouldn't waste time getting one.

If you try a thing in a particular way and it's not working, isn't it right to go another route?

In the present set up in this country, people will get killed and nothing will change.

Ask yourself, what has protests really changed in this country? If there is/are changes, it's always just very little and not a total change.

I still subscribe for a political party where everyone who hit the roads all over the country last year and those who where in their houses and supported them will come together to form a government.

If you are thinking well, is the police not suppose to be an escort for the peaceful protest rather than use of tear gas

Today wasn't meant for protest but "PROCESSION". Though, I haven't seen pictures yet to know if they blocked the roads and acting in a way that the police think it's unsafe for other road users.

Why can't lots of you here pass your messages without first, making insulting comments and using abusive words

They always start tear gassing and shooting protester who do nothing wrong. So when these protesters are pushed to the wall they retaliate by destroying government properties.

Thses are the same people who are calling the government clueless and saying they don't know what they are doing.

What modalities have the organisers come up with to make sure what happened last year don't repeat itself. This is just pure hate for a group of persons and their means to achieve their selfish interests.

The people who died and properties destroyed doesn't mean anything to them. They are only pretending to fight for the people when in the real sense, they're trying to express the hate that is consuming them.

Well you have a good point but people should be allowed to protest except where they are destroying properties and in this case no one is doing that. Peaceful protest is part and parcel of the Democratic process that can be employed by pressure group( who are also part of the Democratic institutions). Not everyone want to be part of a political party but everyone want a peaceful and working system in his country.
Please go and get your voters card because it is necessary, if all of us are avoiding getting or using our voters card Nigeria would have been worse than it is today. Believe me people’s votes still count in some part of this country even if it's not counting now one day it will count. Let's keep doing the right thing.

I'm not against protests because it's supposed to send message to the authorities to remind them what they're not doing right. I also wish protests can be properly organised where all sectors will come on board even though this is almost impossible. Just imagine ALL production companies in Nigeria shutting down for 24hrs.

McTobe, I'll take your advise to get a voter's card.

Thank you.

Since when did a protest in a democratic dispensation become nonsense? Some people are just not fit for a civilized environment.
