Hello Guys

Please I have gone through the thread, although somethings are not clear but I have taken the cue to get some documents listed here by some people.

I have gotten my passport, transcripts and I will get my certificate of medium of instruction soon.

So my case is, I have a Bsc in Human Anatomy, grad 2019 but I have not seen any job listings in the links looking for people like me.

Hello everyone, For English proficiency for skilled worker Visa, they just stated IELTS SELT Consortium: 'IELTS for UKVI' or 'IELTS Life Skills'
However when I went to register, I saw IELTS for UKVI Academic and General module. Which should I register for?

When filling the application form for skilled worker, they requested for where I'll be staying. The company has said they will provide accommodation for one month through silver door apartments (just like Airbnb), during this time, I'm expected to sort my accommodation. They haven't given me any address. How do I fill this out.

Someone help please.

Good afternoon everyone. Please my sister needs a professional advice. About 5 years ago she claimed she was married while applying for US tourist Visa. Her visa was denied on 214b reasons. Now, she wants to apply for UK skilled workers visa and she's afraid of what the outcome would be because UK and US share information sort of. She is wondering if this would have any effect on her UK Visa. She doesn't know if she should pick single or divorced (she has papers to back it up) while applying for UK visa. She's still single though.
Please professionals in the house help us out

Thank you for your response. If they don't share information, how come they find out visa denials that aren't revealed.
For example I know of a Nurse whose UK skilled workers Visa was denied, because she didn't mention of her USA Visa denial. The UK embassy found out and denied her visa.

Hi, I do believe USA & the UK share immigration information, even, including AUS & NZ. I'd suggest she should apply truthfully according to her current status.

Please I need answers to a few questions. Would appreciate if anyone can assist with answers.

How long does it take on average to get a CoS after accepting an offer from an employer?
Employer mentioned background check for 5/6 weeks before CoS is issued. What does the background check entail please?
Is there anything I can do from my end to speed up the process?
Were you required to submit bank statement as part of your visa application?

Thanks

CoS can be issued once the company decides to employ you. Mine took 3 days after they made an offer, it could be the same day if they want.

Provide any information they want on time and follow up with your references to respond on time as well so that there is no delay from your side.

In the CoS letter, there is a column for whether the company will take care of you for the first month, if the company tick 'Y', you will not need a bank statement or PoF, if they tick 'N', you will need a bank statement or PoF.

Since you have gotten this far, I advise you to book for TB test and write IELTS to avoid delay when the CoS is eventually issued. Mine has been issued for a couple of weeks now but I haven't been able to apply for Visa because the approved TB test center didn't have an available date that was close and IELTS will take 13 days to come out after writing. Even if you are skeptical, booking for the TB test is free and you can pay on the day of the test, so just book and secure a date.

Are you in IT and which country within UK did you secure the job?

Hello, everyone. Please let's not lose sight of the essence of this thread, which is to share useful tips, information, links, etc pertaining to the subject so as to help one another to succeed on this journey.
For this reason, please if you've succeeded in any of the following:
- getting a UK job offer (CoS), or
- obtaining your SW visa/HCW visa, or
- landing in the UK,
do well to share with us a step-by-step run-down of the process (+ timeline) through which you achieved this. Thanks.

Thanks a lot. I already made a booking for the TB test (available date I got is 3rd week in December which is far). I'll send an email or go there physically to see if I can get an earlier date for the test.

Yes I'm in Technology and got the job within England.

Hi RealVip, quick one regarding this CoS issue. Please I have been getting stories on how the company might ask you on interview days to pay for your trip. I mean Visa fee and all that. But somebody else said today that she’s being asked to pay her Skill charge. That’s like the fee the organization hiring you is meant to pay to l apply for your CoS which is around 1820pounds plusb199 pounds CoS certificate fee. Sorry did you pay that too? Or is there some sort of scam about to happen in that regards. Also can you please PM like a WhatsApp number I can send you a VN on so I can explain better if you don’t mind. Thanks to

Cheap scam.
You do not pay for CoS.
In fact, the organization does not apply for CoS on your behalf, once they are licensed to sponsor, they can issue anybody they employ CoS. It's just like saying you pay for an employment letter. As per the certificate, CoS is not a certificate per se, it just bears the name. It's a pdf document that contains your details and the company details. When applying for Visa, you just pick details from there to fill a form, you are not submitting the CoS to anybody like it's one certificate.

As a rule of thumb, try to avoid paying for any job offer, even if you think it is genuine, a company that asks for a fee before employing you is not worth working for.

Hi RealVip
Thank you for your response and as it should be this things are supposed to be paid for by the organization employing you but from extensive research from Quora and Reddit apps I discovered a lot of organizations demand that you pay either directly or indirectly. Some could loan it to you and deduct from your salary as you earn. Even some NHS agencies do this and meanwhile if you have to apply through an agency then you pay for both the agency charges and any other charges the visa incurs. These recruiters act like they are doing you a favor by bringing you in when they could easily employ your EU counterparts and boycott those charges. Sadly they are right especially when you are applying to sectors where a higher level of education is not required. Please I’m putting this out based on personal research to avoid throwing genuine job offers away if you can afford to pay for it. These jobs are not easy to come by and most importantly scrutinize and be 100% sure you aren’t about to enter one chance with your hard earned money.
Cheers

What exactly will the company ask you to pay for?

As for the issue of agency and visa charges you mentioned, we have not even gotten that far, we are still talking about job offer, so why will they be asking for Visa and related fees?

That been said, who ever wants to pay can do so out of curiosity, just be kind enough to share your experience for others to learn. After all if MMM come back today people will still get involved.

Hi RealVip,
It’s not that deep ma’am, so please relax and read reviews on websites like Quora and reddit where you will find reviews from other nationalities. Some of the things you would be paying for are your Visa fee, flight cost, accommodation in the first month even though your CoS ticks maintenance, all your test fees, and in some cases skill charge which is rightly supposed supposed to be paid by your employer depending on the number of years plus the CoS certificate that costs 199 pounds. This is totally different from MMM and it’s wrong for you to generalize and conclude a situation you haven’t been in. You might have gotten an all expense paid job, well good for you but do not over rule the fact that others could get legitimate jobs too yet be asked to pay for all. I have done interviews with white employers whose first question were “Cam you pay for your visa costs” before they proceeded to ask other questions. If anyone gets a legit tier 2job that requires them to pay for their trip costs then I think its safe to say go ahead and pay because these jobs don’t come that easily and except for jobs skills that require a higher level of education no employer wants to throw their money around bringing you in from your home country for jobs like SCW . Some employers might loan it to you and deduct if from your salary as you earn. Life is not a one way highway abeg. Google google google.

You are right bro, the same thing happened to my sister, they ask her if she could afford to pay for her travel expenses but the problem is that she is yet to register with her profession regulated body in the UK. And her job title is highly regulated job so it is a crime to be tag so with registered with the agency..... But we are trying to see how it goes

Calm down and read the question that was asked, then read my initial response.

That’s like the fee the organization hiring you is meant to pay to l apply for your CoS which is around 1820pounds plusb199 pounds CoS certificate fee

Once a company has license to sponsor, you do not need to pay for them to apply for your CoS, except they do not have the license and you want to sponsor the license for them. I wasn't referring to flight ticket and all that. The person that asked the question already said he knows about the trip and visa fees thing but the CoS thing just came up. My response was to the CoS fee not travel expenses. Of course who do you expect to pay your travel expenses for you?

Now you are the one that needs to calm down and redirect your browser to Gov.uk Read the employer/sponsor section and you will find out there’s something called “skill charge” that employers have to pay for every worker they intend to bring into the UK even after they have been duly licensed to sponsor. Please get your facts right before coming to Form woke on educative platforms like this so you don’t end up misleading people with your hasty generalizations.
