He cannot and he knows Stam is levels above Vidic.

Vidic was still in the jungles of Serbia learning rondo when Stam won UEFA defender of the year for two seasons in a row.

Stam did 3 seasons in the PL and won a PL title in each season including the TREBLE. Alex Ferguson actually said selling him was his biggest regret in his 26 years of managing Man Utd. Stam was that imperious.

United couldn’t find a solution to the gaping hole left by Stam. They paid £30m(record fee) for Rio in 2002 to try and close the hole, Rio alone couldn’t do it. They signed Laurent Blanc to partner Rio to close the hole, it didn’t work.

It wasn’t until Vidic was signed that the hole got closed. Now, this is the tricky part. The sum of the parts of Rio and Vidic is overwhelmingly greater than both and that tends to confuse people that they are the greatest individually.

I'm split mehn. I want Ole to succeed, yet it's obvious he doesn't have the technicality to get the best out of the team he assembled, just isn't good enough. I won't defend him anymore like I used to, but I have a soft spot for him still.

We are just badly coached.

There was enough faults to pass around but the bulk of it lay on Ole's table. There are many systems that can accommodate the failures of those players and still succeed. He couldn't find one.

Vidic wasn’t better than John Terry.

Vidic is probably the best in the PL aerially. He sticks his head into anything flying in the air but he lacks the composure and the close control Rio had on the ball.

Terry was a monster aerially and on ground. There was a time Terry was impregnable for like 3 seasons in a row. Nothing got past him - he was even using his hands to stop shots back then.

I don’t do sentiments. I saw prime Vidic got totally destroyed by Torres, Eto’o, Yakubu, etc. Prime Terry was never ever humiliated that way. I would even put prime Carvalho in the top 5.

Terry was always covered by a hardworking partner in Carvalho, Terry is the greatest scam in football, he is solely responsible for Chelseas failures in Europe. ALmost every CL ouster has a Terry error in it. When we ask what is Terrys biggest attribute we start hearing leadership like he is a politician
