I've been a drop out since 2017. I had believed I'd make money and put myself through school again. But problem no dey ever finish, rather I spend the peanuts I make on family. I have no savings and no way forward even ..

If I continue like this, I might not be able to go back to school even in five years time.

I would really love to further my education again.. University or Polytechnic, I don't mind starting from somewhere

Look into open, public and online universities.

Look for the ones that are accredited.

God be with you.

I don't know what to do, I don't even know if going back to school is what I should be wanting at this point. My life has been in a circle for long, I have a lot that I'd love to achieve but.. I never get to really achieve them

I had saved up some money for a certain project but I've spent it all in the hospital, yet the test results all came out fine. The lab technician said "you're fine" and I'm like "No... I know just how I feel, I'm not" I left with my result to the doctors office. He said just the Same thing .. But because I was insisting that all isn't well he asked that I go for another X-ray.. The initial chest x-ray stated nothing was wrong with me and so did the lab tests

I understand how frustrating it can be to your spend all your earnings on your family. I've been there before. The problems no dey ever finish. Every week one or two new expenses will come up. What I can advise you to do is start boning your family and use your money to take care of your own own needs. I know it's hard to do that as a decent guy but just imagine you don't have any job or means of income at all, hence, you have money to send. You will be surprised that most of those expenses they are depending on your neck for will pass away if you fold your hands. They will just sort themselves. Try to make yourself happy with the little you have first and you go see road on the next step to take.

Well,I too dropped out at some point because of business.
Thought I could do the two at once but one will always supercede the other.
The only difference was I fought the battle seriously and was able to win over the business and make a living out of it,but I still miss that degree.
I want to go back but same trade isn't giving me time to do so.
So much opportunity waiting in line if only I can get that degree.
I've made up my mind that I might not get that paper in my lifetime and I've made peace with it.

Thanks a lot, I'm glad you've come to terms with what works for you.. Even the business has refused to work for me. I can't even restock my commodities. I guess I have to face my reality somehow

I understand your plight, business is very hard in Nigeria.
I started from other countries too because the challenges in Nigeria is too much,
But I'm back home now and working so hard,
Life is a journey bro,be contented with the journey, have a goal and love and be contented with the process,
You sef go shock.

You may not be able to achieve this unless you start saving money for it

Though you can still go to school at any age

But now is the best time for you, if not, you will be in school and your children will be in school then too

You can make out time for that degree if you truely desire it.

My hub is in Nairobi, when I am less busy I usually drop by the areas Nigerians who trade in Electronics, Vehicle spare parts etc do have their shops. Majority of them only have their secondary certificate before going to business and I used to encourage them to go back to school, by enrolling. into Kenyan universities as it does not require JAMB and they admit thrice a year (January, May and September).

All they needed to do was get their O'Level result and have it equalized to Kenyan qualification at a cost of $100 and once the equalization certificate states one is qualified to join a degree program in Kenya, there will be many schools to choose from.

Even before Covid, majority of Kenyan universities had satellite campuses within Nairobi CBD which is about 10-15mins walk from were they have their shops and they offered daily evening lectures from 5.30p.m to 8.30p.m for their mature students who are workers and traders.

I encouraged many to take up the opportunity, sadly most of them said they prefer hanging out in the evenings after the day's business. Only 2 who were in their 30s, took up the opportunity, I facilitated their admission and they enrolled into 3 years degree programs.

One graduated October last year (2020) with a bachelor degree in Business and Information Technology at age 38 and headed back to Nigeria earlier this year in February to apply for his UK student visa as he got admitted to University of Sunderland to do his Msc in International Business Management. He got his visa in March and left immediately for the UK because lectures started in March.

He applied for his wife and 3 kids to join him, they got their visas and he went back to Nigeria in August to fly back to the UK with them.

The news spread like wild fire here in Nairobi, that triggered many to start looking for their WAEC certificates, sending relatives to go to the secondary schools they attended in Nigeria to get them.

It is never too late.
