Amtrak does 65mph out of the supposed 150mph on a very good day. On a bad day we should be looking at 35mph. Now that right there is as slow as a snail. I would rather walk to my destination



SGR is way more modern than NGR ..I repeat way more modern. Heck even most HSR in china still makes use of SGR. your NGR and snail paced trains cars makes it a double whammy. Heck can’t imagine my self in that as I ascend a hill or mountain.



Maybe u also forget they have bullet trains.

- Our Passenger trains are broken up in regions WC, Gauteng, Durban, EC ect ect....they don't need to be fast since they don't travel long distances....the fact is our new passenger trains are state of the art in terms of comfortability, efficiency and safety...and nothing in Nigeria that can match them.

- how did I forget Japan have HSRs?? I simply stated that the majority of their highly efficient rail network is still NGR.

- Nigerian SGR as in the track itself has a max rating of 250kmph but you don't have a train that goes even close to that speed.

oh, I really didn't check that as I was going through ur post as fast as I could. But that doesn't change the fact that China still has faster and more hsr than the US.

Ah, well, the Nigerian rail line capacity is between 200km/h and 250km/h, what about SAn rail line?

- The Gautrain was never meant to go more than 160km.....it doesn't make sense for it to go that fast because its an inter province rail network.

- Cape gauge/NGR was first used in 1795... Not 1500s.....

exactly, and that's the only hsr that u have cos u're already stuck with narrow guage.

Narrow guage has been used since as far as 1500s in mines, u can check that urself..... I'm not talking of passenger steam or coal train. We're talking the rail itself.

SA can't use SGR not because of the terrain but because it has developed it's rail system earlier when narrow guage was the norm, rail guages has nothing to do with terrain.

Japanese rail efficiency is not about the guage but about timing, they adhere to the time schedule without missing a minute, and if they do, they'll apologize and even send message to one's place of work that they're the cause of the person's lateness on many occasions.

Before we even go further about this ur germane hsr, how many km/h will it run? Cos here we're still building 250km/h rail lines not to talk of other SSA nations.
