Senator Shehu Sani is of the opinion that the management of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, should be held responsible for the abduction of two corpers in Zamfara state, Reports.

From The Information Gathered By , Iorliam Jennifer Awashima, pictured below, and one of her colleagues were on their way to the NYSC camp in Kebbi State for the 2021 Batch C Stream One orientation course when they were abducted alongside other passengers in a commercial bus.

Reacting to the news via his Facebook page today, Sani averred that the leadership of the scheme must be held responsible and accountable for the abduction. He wrote;

''Jenifer Iorliam,a youth Corper posted to Kebbi was kidnapped by terrorists in Zamfara. A ransom is now placed on her head and one other colleague of hers called Joseph.The NYSC should be held responsible and accountable.They posted them,they must rescue them or secure their release by all means possible.''

NYSC should stop posting Corp members to high risk areas or the scheme should be suspended till we have a bit of sanity and security in this Country.
NYSC should pay the ransom, nothing should happen to that girl.

A functioning legislature/Senate will have stopped Corpers from being posted to troubled region...but no, they don't feel concern cos their children will never be caught on the road to serve in a jungle.....I so hate this country...life has no value here

Who should the NYSC hold responsible? The Federal government because of its failures does put a lot of pressure on the NYSC (which of course represents it) to post corpers in order to meet up with the obvious lack of man power especially in our public schools. The Corp members of course are a cheaper labour compared to actual staff. The Federal government also pressures the NYSC to post people because it masks the true nature of the unemployment market. At any given period of the year, millions of Nigerian youths don’t consider themselves unemployed because they are ‘serving’. Whereas service done voluntarily may be noble, the Nigerian service is an exploitation of the average Nigerian youth.



In other news though, all those soldiers that like to over carry work for head inside NYSC camp, this is your chance to prove your mettle. Go and rescue these young ones from the kidnappers’ den.
