I have often wondered why the often catastrophic explosions at sites of criminal acts associated with petroleum products like illegal refineries and stealing from oil pipelines does not deter the masses from continuing in those acts. They keep on stealing from pipelines and illegally refining crude. Meanwhile that person that blamed the multinationals is so dumb. Is it the multinationals operate the illegal refineries? When a people cannot own up to their shortcomings there can never be a positive change. 3 Likes |

SamuelAnyawu: Don't mind them, oil thieves die in the course of their illegal activity and you blame IOCs who are victims of the theft. We need reorientation as a people in this country. 3 Likes 1 Share |

They are now blaming IOCs. Rivers people and blaming oil companies are like bread and butter. You are doing something illegal and putting millions of people at risk and still have the effontry to blame oil companies. 25 down, more to go. We need good air in port-harcourt. 3 Likes |

Watch them start playing the blame game. They have the opportunity to do better by themselves , but they prefer illegal stuff. Even the security personnel are not left out, they come around to take cuts , look other side and go away like nothing happened. Nigeria is a time bomb |

ubee:These communities agreed with these FG and iocs to curb oil spills, leakages from pipes, environmental degradation, build hospitals, schools, pay fund's to affected persons in the communities. They're allocated funds these iocs and FG agreed with said communities to be paid but they're not living to expectations. |

SamuelAnyawu: You are stealing crude oil to refine in the most unsafe and environmentally destructive way and you want to blame MNCs. This is why God hates your race. You lie out of cowardice. You lie out of wickedness. You lie out of inferiority. Everything about Nigeria is lies, fraud and dodging responsibility |

Hmmm...... from the community leaders ...the oil refineries did not live up to their obligations so the youths had no choice but to resort to artisans refineries. Couldn't the leaders take the youths and demand that the refineries meet their obligations? ... or else? The leaders failed the community and blaming the companies. |

Realdeals: Thanks @Realdeals for your honest assessment. I was surprised that the irresponsible community rep of Rumuekpe was blaming Oil companies for illegal Refineries. When in actual facts, it is the get rich quick and "our oil money" attitude of the communities that make them setup illegal refineries. The oil companies don't owe anybody a means of livelihood in that community. Also to clarify a technical point on Nairaland. The oil in Niger Delta is spread into only 30 to 35 percentage of land in the Niger Delta. So, 65 percent of those in Niger Delta who make noise on social media about "our oil" don't have any oil on their family land or communities. |

Get-rich-quick syndrome. These are part of the people causing the black sooth problem in Ph, endangering people's life. I have no RIP to waste. When u get to hell, there is enough crude to refine. Nonsense! |
