Images below may guide you. If your brother is not PR or Citizen, you fall under relatives of those temporarily in Canada and siblings do not qualify under that rule. On the other hand, siblings qualify if the person in Canada is PR, Citizen or ..(. Indian something..). It's good you tried because you never know. It may be to keep waiting for now as I know someone who applied in February too without news to date and I applied in March, 2020 and no news. Sometimes, I wonder if the applications have mostly been treated and kept aside on "waiting to release" queue. timmyfg:

Please I need an experienced person to help me on how to process this visa. My sister is processing tourist visa to go for birth. I want to use this opportunity to process mine too as someone who's going to help her during birth and after birth. How do I go about it? Should I start now to apply or wait when she's gone to Canada before I apply Please help me as I need what to do now? |

Please who has used the IRCC portal recently to apply for a visitor's visa? I started a visitor's visa application on the website but can't seem to continue the application. Once I click on "continue application" the page keeps searching, cursor keeps rolling and then I get message saying that an unknown error occurred. Been at it for a while. Tried continuing the application on incognito mode, used a different computer and even created a new profile to no avail. Pls any information to help resolve this issue would go a long way. Thanks |

Hello everybody Trust we are all hopeful. Please I have a question and would be glad to know those who have gone through this process b4 now I got a Passport Request on 13th September and I submitted via DHL to Abuja 15th Sept but up till this moment I haven't gotten a mail or message that my passport has been returned. Is it normal? It is 23 working days already... NB: my application is for Permanent Residence (Family Class) Thanks |

Favouriteguy: Have you tried tracking your passport with the tracking ID sent to you? Do the tracking first, if you don't see anything then call IRCC Nigeria office . |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Favouriteguy: 5:46am On Oct 20, 2021 |
Chiall: Thanks for the reply. I have done the tracking yet nothing. I have raised a webform to inquire reason for the silence as I haven't got a correspondence. STILL NO REPLY Do you think phone call will be a good idea? 1 Like |

I applied for a visit visa for my mum 2 days ago via the IRCC secure account but I haven’t received a biometric request letter neither has an application number been assigned. I expected the biometrics letter within 24 hours as stated on the website. I’m just now finding out that there’s a new ircc portal for completing the application and I’m wondering if I need to re-apply. I don’t mind foregoing the previous fees paid |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by gbawee: 7:08pm On Oct 20, 2021 |
Strange because i believe i submitted my mum's using the normal secure IRCC account and i got the Biometrics letter within 24 hours. Didn't even know there's a special portal AyabaS: |

I applied for tourist visa for my mum (after September 17) and got Biometrics request the very next day. Now, i am seeing there is a dedicated portal for that... Would i need to start all over? |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by AyabaS: 8:54pm On Oct 20, 2021 |
gbawee: This is my concern too especially as I haven’t gotten biometrics request more than 48 hours later. Can anyone who reapplied after Sept 7 and has gotten passport request confirm which medium they applied through. IRCC secure account or the IRCC portal |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by gbawee: 9:13pm On Oct 20, 2021 |
Well, she did her Biometrics last Tuesday (same was updated immediately). If however i don't hear from them by next week wednesday/Thursday, then I'll go apply from the new portal AyabaS: |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by galala123(m): 9:54pm On Oct 20, 2021 |
Ha! Which new portal again? Biometrics is done once in 10 years or so and it will be the same number on all further applications for same applicants. Please enlighten me as the rules keep changing. Now I see 150 days for processing TRV from Nigeria down from 500 days at a point but I don't see the correlation with situation on ground except if they are actually finalising lots of applications that we are not aware of or if 2020 applications have been excluded from the data set. gbawee: |

It's now 150 days... Feels like motion without movement! How is this possible? Viking07: |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by UrsyBC: 11:42pm On Oct 21, 2021 |
@galala123 there isn't any better word to describe it than motion without movement. As a student in Canada, I applied in June 2020 for my family to visit me. Since then, there has been no single update till date. Post graduation and on work permit, I have updated the application, yet no update. Meanwhile I haven't also got an update on my PR application since I submitted in June 2021 via EE/PNP. Is silence their new mode of communication? 1 Like |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by AyabaS: 2:36am On Oct 22, 2021 |
gbawee: Looks like there was some type of lag period for 48 hours. Immediately I submitted, I got a confirmation of application transmitted, then got a confirmation of application submitted 2 days later and application number and UCI was assigned to the profile. I then got biometric request 24 hours later. I’m hoping they’re still fast tracking applications for family reunification, I really need my mom here next month. Took this long to apply because Nigeria happened as usual, I jumped through hoops and paid through my nose to get her a passport. |

If you applied Sept 4th it means you didnt apply through the Portal as that became active after Sept 7th so you should apply again. borvick: 1 Like |
