The federal rate was set a long time ago to force states to up their rate but it has not been updated in a long time as majority of states and companies pay way more then the $7.50 so stop using the federal minimum wage rate, no one in the US uses it.

Secondly majority of Nigerians who tend to do multiple jobs is because they are illegal and unable to get better jobs, and also many Nigerians work multiple jobs to send money home for family commitments. if it was just to live they will be ok with one job same as you in Brazil.
