You are wrong, though one can never rule out that he learnt a thing or two from him which is rightly so, as his predecessor but Osimhen has always been this physical and mobile. I can recall his games for our youth sides even when he was neither a super eagle nor was ighalo an integral member of our squad. I remember the rescue mission against Lybia at the U23s, I still remember vividly his one on one physical battle with hard tackling Mali’s Abdul Karim Dante(adjudged the most physical player of the 2015 World Cup). Despite osimhen’s thin frame, he owned Dante in that final and came out with a goal and some great efforts that ended up on target. That final alone made me make up my mind on the boy.

So you mean we should respect their wishes just because we have enough strikers who are scoring goals left and right for Nigeria? You just made my earlier post valid. The issue now is not about respecting their wishes. Club football does not IMMEDIATELY translate to national football. Remove Osimhen, you have Onuachu who took him matches and matches to add to his tally of goals for SE. Over two legs in the next WC qualifying round who can you count on if Osimhen does not provide goals? Read my earlier submission again.
