Thanks for answering. I don’t have a tax clearance but I’m thinking of going to the tax office to get that done. But it’ll cost me money. So I’m thinking if it’s really necessary? Will it be an advantage? |
hi sir, thank you for your response. shamefully, i have tried getting a hang on how to send you a pm but not succeeded :- however i have gone through the thread and will like to drop my status for the gurus in the house to help put me on the right track. I am a widow with two children age 4 and 6 years old, it has been a hectic 4 years for me since my husband died. I have been struggling with high blood pressure, depression and other health challenges due to emotional distress. my kids are finally old enough to stay with my mom for atleast 3 weeks without me, and i wanted to use this opportunity to take a break, a well deserved vacation My brother inlaw has offered to sponsor me on the trip so i plan on going to uk under tourist visa on the 18th of December if im granted Visa. I do business, and my 12 months bank statement is currently over 3m, although the ending balance is zero lolx. i do not have a registered company and dont have any trace of salary paid to my account, except money i make from sales... this made me opt for unemployment while filling the form to avoid me fumbling when asked to defend my funds. question 1 ... will the unemployment status affect my application, being that ill be 100% sponsored by my inlaw? 2 what documents does my inlaw have to give as my sponsor? 3 will i need any document to proof that i was married / widowed? if yes, please what documents do i need to submit? 4 Do i also need to proof that i have kids, as my tie? if yes what documents of my kids do i need to submit? 5 i plan to stay in a hotel for the whole period (3 weeks) because i dont know anyone in uk, will this be a problem? 6 is it to late to apply for a standard Visa now, knowing that i want to travel on the 18th after my children school term closes? 7 if yes to no 6, is it advisable to apply for a priority on a vacation? what will be my reason for the rush? 8 my hotel and flight already is at a million naira, and i wanted to add 300k for other expenses as food, transportation, tour and shopping for my kids, making it a total of 1.3m for the trip, considering this, how much does my inlaw need to be earning or have in his account to be on a safe side? 9 please a page on the application form asked "why are they sponsoring you"? is this where im supposed to write my self introduction letter? and is it compulsory? 10 finally please i read that im supposed to write in detail my itinerary through out my stay, stating in detail how ill be spending the whole 3 weeks attaching cost and names of places ill be visiting, which will have to sum upto my total estimated expenses, is this information correct? if no, please what do i need to do in that regard. I will also appreciate any information or a pointer as to how I can make my letter of explanation convincing . Any good writter in the house? God bless you all as i anticipate clarification. Sorry to hear all your story is very touching but God is with you... Well with the little of my experience I had ... 1First of first you are category as a self employed, since you are doing a business but is not registered or having business account . Please I need urgent responses as she is having Ber biometrics tomorrow. I applied on behalf of my mum inviting her to the UK, still at the stage of uploading her documents. But all documents needed is available. Can I change this current application from standard to priority? (Because I have noticed that there is a serious delay in response from these visa people judging from experiences shared here and those of the people I know personally) Or would I need to cancel outrightly, if I cancel this current one and begin another. How long will the refund take - I paid for standard visa and premium lounge (42k naira). I hope I will also be able to get a date this week with premium lounge. Please I will appreciate a quick response. Thank you all |

tushqueen:priority is an added service. If u need priority u must first pay for standard as u have done and then go onto TLS site where appt was booked and add priority service to ur bag and checek out |

Regardless of the next available appointment dates, if you need the visa for traveling this December, I would advise you go the priority route otherwise…..mine took 8 weeks before I got a response. So, do the mathematics. Good luck! monchat: |

Thank you Sir for your response, I really appreciate . Please anyone else ? Sir for the flight the least I've seen is 476k air france. And hotel in booking.com , I went for the least price which was also around that rate, although it's reduced now after I reduced the days to 14. Do you have any idea about a cheaper hotel reservation and flights I could check out? Gentlesoul3268: |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 4 by Vicki2020: 10:51am On Nov 03, 2021 |
Just letting this out even priority sometikes is useless I paid for priority since September 23rd my visa isn't out yet student dependant the last 3 times I call the ukvi I was told a decision has been made since first week in October. And still yet I am yet to get my passport back. No refusal was sent to me yet even till now I have escalated 2twicw and finally on Monday after going to cry at tls vi I was called by this landline 014535191 which I guess is a Nigerian number for ukvi that the embassy are resolving my case that I should be patient My prayer now is that they do not reopen in my case for any reason cause I have transferred my money from my Uba bank to my other account that I will be using when I am in the UK because after I heard a decision has been made I just started planning my trip it's God that said I should have not paid for my ticket Please. Is it possible for them to reopen after decision is made And is it possible for them to refuse someone without sending a refusal mail I heard of recent that you get a refusal mail immediately a visa is refused even before get your passport back Please help me |

I think it may be logistical issues as to why you are yet to get your passport back. Once a decision has been made, unless they later detected an error (for instance, a fake bank statement), there and then, maybe the case would be reopened again where other documents would be properly scrutinized (assuming it wasn’t done the first time which is very doubtful, going by the attitude of the UKVI generally). Moving forward, whether or not you already moved the funds elsewhere, I don’t think that should matter as long as the bank statement(s) submitted is/were not fake as I doubt if they call to check the balance perse (since this isn’t a student visa application, I presume) aside maybe confirming a few specific transactions (if at all possible) to determine the authenticity or otherwise of the bank statement(s). Lastly, UKVI authoritatively confirmed to me that applications from Nigerians are treated in New Delhi, India. So, if the order to issue the visa is coming from there, there might be some delays or logistical issues along the line and since you didn’t get any refusal email, the chance that the visa has or would be issued in probability terms is about 90%. My honest opinion though. Vicki2020: |

If you can track your application and it showed transferred to VAC without getting an email yet, your passport Should be ready for collection. I tracked this morning and it showed transferred to VAC and tried my luck to see if it’s available and I was told it’s ready but they are yet to scan it into the into system and I was given. Visa approved the 6th renewal though. It took 8 good weeks to get ready since the day of submission. Biometrics. Sep 7 and collected passport back nov 3. If you can’t wait and able to afford priority just pay for it and it should be ready in one week. NB:Your intend travel date has nothing to do with your visit when your visa is approved. You can travel anytime after u get your visa. |

6 Months Visa!!! Priority Visa I don’t know if I should call myself a first-time applicant. I applied for the very first time on 25th of September 2021 (priority visa) and I was refused on the grounds of irregularities in my statement of account. I re-applied immediately and explained the deposits in my account. TIMELINE Submission - 11th October Biometrics - 15th October Transferred to DMC – 15TH October Received at DMC – 18TH October Sent paid email – 25th October TLS Collection email – 1st November DOCUMENTS SUBMITTED. 6 Months Payslips 6 Months Bank statement (Savings and Salary account) Introduction from employer Leave approval from employer Hotel booking Cover letter explaining the deposits and my itinerary. Travel history - Dubai I also have a US visa refusal which I declared. Thank you everyone who takes out time to reply questions. We the association of silent readers appreciate you. 1 Like |

My passport with the visa was delivered to me this afternoon by DHL as I opted for the courier delivery. It took 8 weeks for me to get a decision on my application. Regardless, it ended in praise. Thanks to everyone who has been making this forum super-informative and lively too. Special thanks to @tutu89 or so and other gurus in the house for the support while I was packaging my application. Documents submitted were: Application form. Bank statements (2 personal and 1 business) Cover letter explaining some deposits that weren’t covered by receipts and also addressing my initial refusal. Previous US & Schengen visas and Schengen residence and work permits Business registration documents Property documents (real and personal) Family pictures Kids’ birth certificates and tuition fees receipts Professional certificates, both local and foreign. Above all, just put God first while covering every loophole. I had fears about my company’s status showing “inactive” on CAC’s website but aside that, nothing else. However, it later turned out that much weight may not be attached to it after all, maybe depending on who handles the application. Hope this helps. Good luck to all those expecting a response. It shall be according to plans. 2 Likes |
