Hello Everyone, I'm new here and really need help/advise. My wife is a PhD student in France and want me to come stay in France with her while she continue her study. My concern is as a PhD student spouse in France can I work legally? Because I have a business here in Nigeria and I don't want to leave it to go and work illegally in another mans land. Also if I'm to join my wife in France for the remaining duration of her study what type of Visa will I apply for? if you have experience or advice that will be helpful kindly respond. Thank you. |

sunnychoice:You will be applying for a Family Reunion visa but it is your wife that will initiate the process at her Local Prefecture in France and it is when they give the go-ahead, you can then apply for the visa in Naija. As a dependant, you have the right to work. There are some stringent requirements though - she must have been in France for 18 months, earning at least 1,200€ and her apartment size should not be less than 28m2 The process is stressful & could be annoying but it will be best for her to consult a local immigration lawyer to help with the plenty French documents and application forms. 1 Like |

Good evening everyone. Pls, I know someone who has secured a student visa to France this year, but she is likely not to go to France this year due to some situations beyond her control. My question is will the non-usage of the student visa she got this year affect her chance of getting the student visa next year? Please, I await your responses. Thanks. |
