U.S. Asks Citizens To Leave Ethiopia As Soon As Possible by Nobody: 5:17pm On Nov 05, 2021 |
The U.S. embassy in Addis Ababa advised all U.S. citizens to leave Ethiopia as soon as possible, a statement on their website said on Friday, after an alliance of anti-government forces threatened to march on the capital city. SOURCE In a turn of events, the Ethiopian Government see the alarmist reporting by Washington as a huge disservice to the well-earned reputation of these media outlets." PM Abiy's Office calls the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) seeming peace negotiations as a "publicity stunt" and denies vehemently Addis Ababa is under siege. The Ethiopian Govt has rejected efforts by the International Community to bring PM Abiy to the negotiating table, insisting that "the wealth of reconciliatory approaches and methodologies that Ethiopia has within its own bag," like traditional mechanisms and elders, etc. has to be explored and exhausted before external measures are considered. 7 Likes 1 Share |

African mentality. Referendum, restructuring or round table discussion would have solved the problem but no, we always flex muscles over nothing. Eritrea has gone. Tigrey is about to go. And nothing Ethiopia can do about it. Same fate awaits Nigeria. 318 Likes 23 Shares |

Africa. If Nigeria refuses to restructure soonest and allow equity and fairness for all tribes to feel belonged, this same fate will befall Nigeria in mere future. The war will be so deadly that President and Governors will abandon their seats and run away from Nigeria. 86 Likes 1 Share |

Tigray spent close to 30 years in power building sectional military despite being a minority and underdeveloping national institutions. Immediately they lost power, they started strategizing on how to violently takeover by raiding army posts and seizing weapons. When the government resisted the raids, the Tigrays turned the conflict into a tribal affair. I would have respected Tigrays more if they had declared secession at the beginning of the conflict but they didn't because their aim is about getting back into power not splitting. 82 Likes 7 Shares |

Igbodicool:Stop the self-hate. No continent grants referendum as a right. Ethiopia's poorly contructed restructuring is actually responsible for its woe. Eritrea left when your darling "freedom fighting" Tigray was in power. Tigray's hate and fought against secessionists until they lost out of power in 2018. Tigray is interested in seizing power, not secession. They could have left anytime they want in the past 30 years they were in charge and dictating to others. Not even close. It seems you have no idea how Ethiopia is structured compared to Nigeria. 28 Likes 5 Shares |
