Hi, just check all the requirements for relative visa on the vfs website and follow it to the letter. It's almost the same as a visitor's visa just that this is longer

Abimbolakay123:
Hello wonderful people, My name is Abimbola, I would like to get information on how to secure a Relative Visa to South Africa, my dad is there with a permanent residence and I visited South Africa sometime in 2017 for 2 weeks, can anyone guide me on how to go with my application please?

Please be informed! South africa dont accept reservation unlike before, please pay for your hotel because they will confirm from the hotel if they have secure the payment, before visa issuance.

Bombzy:
From the little I know, you don’t need to pay for the hotel, just make a reservation and they will likely give you a pdf of reservation, you can’t be too certain when you will be given the visa, just make the reservation and use the proof to submit at the embassy. I hope I have answered your question

I think relative permit is for couples and children of a South African permanent resident or a citizens below 18 years.

I do not think that it is limited to persons under 18years. As far as they are related, it is applicable.

The empty arrogance of most Nigerians beats me. As a professional who has lived in SA for 22 years, I have seen over the years how the reputation of Nigeria has gone down, thanks to the unending fraudulent activities of a lot of Nigerians. Drugs, internet fraud, and fraud in general.
In SA, senegalese people own shops and boutiques, I know Ghanian people who own good businesses. Manufacturing of products that occupy the shelves of chain stores. I have lots of friends who are building contractors and still continue to make good money doing clean legit businesses. Not to talk of lawyers, accountants, doctors etc.
The issue is that the Nigerians who do clean businesses and ply their profession are in the very very minority.
I as a Nigerian get panic attacks going into johannesburg cbd. If those Nigerians all over hillbrow are what Nigerians are made of, then I think South Africans are actually very patient.
Why do Nigerians find it soooo difficult to be part of a progressive society.
And please if you think white in SA like Nigerians, then you need a reality check. Whites are not willing to participate in addressing past injustices that the apartheid government did. They would make friends with anyone who speaks evil of the locals. Whites are hardly your friend...wake up!
Their distaste for you might be subtle..but don't get it twisted....who are you
If you are from Ghana, your SA visa application can be done online and an approval sent to you online, if you are from Benin republic, you do not need a visa to get into SA and I am sure it's like that with so many other African countries.
Instead of us introspecting, we cry foul...talk of jealousy...call indigenous people lazy...yet the evil that we do live with and after us.
Nigerians...., start by changing your orientation, to by pass the laws of a land and undermine it, is not smartness. To go to people's country and become human traffickers, drug dealers and internet fraudsters is not hardwork.
It's destroying those countries and creating problems for other well meaning Nigerians who want to migrate and be a progressive part of other societies and those who want to genuinely visit and explore other countries.
South Africa has its own problems...and has the citizens fight to rescue their country from high crime rate, employment and greedy politicians, Nigerians should not further burden their system or make the hurdle harder .
Dubai is an example... people would take steps to preserve their country..
African brotherhood should not destroy, it should build.

Very true talk, Sometimes the leaders aren’t the problem. We Nigerians need to work on ourselves and do better.

So we re-applied immediately after this denial and she has now been given the VISA. Multiple entry and 90 days.

Documents resubmitted were:
-Invitation from my brother who’s a resident stating he was sponsoring the trip and included all his docs and 6 months statement
-The filled request form and her own account statement.

Sammurano:
Please how did you go about this appeal? Did you have to pay for another appointment? Or you just went to VFS with the denial letter and you were allowed in? Please anyone with these answers can also assist. So my mum was denied for same reason of bank statement not valid for 3 months and now we have even gotten statement for 6 months.

Documents submitted were:
-Invitation from my brother who’s a resident stating he was sponsoring the trip and included all his docs and statement (we didn’t include my mum’s statement because he was sponsoring the trip, could that be an issue?)
-The filled request form and her own documents.

Very well said.

It was nauseating to see people defending Ill behavior, telling horrible lies to drive home their point and cussing out the same people accommodating them, and whose visa they are dying to have. We are our own problem. If you call internet fraud hustle, you're a despicable person!!

We like to cry foul and blame the government. We forget that the government is actually a reflection of who we are. The average Nigerian is just waiting for his/her turn to take a piece from the national cake. And you expect South Africans not to protect their own space by shutting you out?
They already have a lot of problems to deal with, you shouldn't be part of it!!
Untill we do some introspection, we will continue to get this treatment being meted on us.
