SamuelAnyawu: The Nigerian army is one of the most indiscipline, coward and unprofessional military in Africa. There are evidence to back up all this... They have failed to realise the Nigerian army is existing because of Nigeria. I wander where they learn this type of style from. Brutality will just make people more determine and fight to death. Killing people in Odi and destroying their properties didn't put an end to militancy in the Niger Delta. One day sha, the cup of the Nigerian army go full I'm against irresponsible killing of unarmed civilians and destroying of properties. 12 Likes 1 Share |

Again, gunmen invade Uni-Abuja, attack lecturerPublished on November Gunmen yet to be identified have reportedly attacked a lecturer of the University of Abuja, Dr David Okoroafor in his office at the school’s permanent site. It was gathered that the armed men stormed Dr Okorafor’s office on Wednesday morning with the intention to assassinate him. DAILY POST reports that the development is coming barley 24 hours after a large number of gunmen invaded the university staff quarters on Tuesday and abducted two professors and five other persons. Dr Okoroafor, made this known in a leaked message he earlier forwarded to officials of the Academic Union of Universities, ASUU after escaping the attack. He said, “Dear ASUU members and UNIABUJA Community, I wish to formally bring to your notice that today, Wednesday November 3, I was attacked in my office located at Room 6, 1st floor, Faculty of Social Science building, at the permanent site. “At exactly 10 am, when I arrived at the building and opened my office, I started praying in my usual way, suddenly two men brandishing weapon bunched into my office and ordered me to go down flat on my face or they kill me. “I pounced on them and the gun. But the duo started to hit me hard. I began to shout on top of my voice for help. “When my voice went higher, they ran out and students tried to pursue after them but when they brandished their gun, the students also became afraid and ran back, giving them room to escape into the nearby bush. “But during the scuffle in my office, their car key fell off which I picked and handed over to the University security unit.” Efforts by DAILY POST to reach the school authority for confirmation, proved abortive as the Public Relations Officer of the institution, Habib Yakoob could not take his calls and unable to respond to text messages forwarded to him. https://dailypost.ng/2021/11/04/again-gunmen-invade-uni-abuja-attack-lecturer/ |

DubaiLandLord1:The Nigerian Army has warned soldiers against filming their operations while on assignment. The army gave the warning in a statement signed by K.O Bukoye on behalf of Farouk Yahaya, the Chief of Army Staff. According to the army, the practice, which it said had become prevalent in recent times contradicts its social media policy and portends dangers for the troops. It called on its various commands to sensitize troops on the need to desist from indulging in such acts. The statement read, "Recent happening reveals that troops are still in the habit of taking pictures and videos while conducting operations. This habit has become worrisome as it goes contrary to the social media policy and also portends dire consequences, especially for the personal security of troops. "It will be recalled that several directives have been given with regards to the aforementioned. This continued act, therefore, suggests the need for continuous sensitization of troops at various theatres. "In view of the foregoing, I am directed to respectfully request you direct formations and units under your command to continually sensitize troops to desist from taking pictures or videos of operational engagement in their various AQRS. Please treat as important and acknowledge." http://saharareporters.com/2021/11/03/nigerian-army-warns-soldiers-against-taking-photos-videos-during-operations

Boko Haram Fighters Ambush Nigerian Security Operatives, Kill Two Policemen, One Soldier, Injure Many Others Militants of the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), formerly known as Jamā'at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da'wah wa'l-Jihād, have killed two policemen and a soldier during an ambush in Borno State. Multiple military sources told SaharaReporters that the attack took place in Malam Fatori, the headquarters of Abadam Local Government Area of the state. The dead officers were said to be members of a joint security team conducting clearance operations in the community. An unspecified number of soldiers and policemen also sustained injuries in the attack while several weapons and ammunition belonging to the team were taken away, one of the sources said. He said the insurgents in their hundreds ambushed the team who were on a clearance patrol in the area. The attack comes a few weeks after the insurgents killed over 25 soldiers who were also on patrol in the Monguno area of Borno State. Monguno is North, about 70km drive from Maiduguri, the state capital, and hosts thousands of Internally Displaced Persons mostly from Dikwa and Marte council areas. “At least 25 soldiers have been confirmed dead, the authorities have contacted some of their families, their bodies are already deposited at the morgue,” a source had told SaharaReporters. Boko Haram and its offshoot, Islamic State West Africa Province, have killed thousands and displaced millions in North-Eastern Nigeria. The Nigerian military has repeatedly claimed that the insurgency had been largely defeated and frequently underplays any losses. In the past months, soldiers have been targeted by insurgents. Over 500 soldiers and officers have been reportedly killed since January 2021. At least 33 soldiers were killed early in the year when two vehicles loaded with explosives rammed into a military convoy in Wulgo. The suicide bombers were identified as Abu Bakr al-Siddiq and Bana Jundullah. The group also claimed four military vehicles were destroyed. In February, about 20 soldiers were also killed in Malari, Borno State by the insurgents. SaharaReporters gathered that the soldiers were on patrol to clear some Boko Haram elements in the area following a credible intelligence when they were ambushed by the group. http://saharareporters.com/2021/11/03/boko-haram-fighters-ambush-nigerian-security-operatives-kill-two-policemen-one-soldier |

Governor Uzodimma of Imo State has began sending relief items to Izombe people whose community was burnt and destroyed by the Nigerian Army two weeks ago. The Governor doled out sleeping beds, food items and cash to Izombe people, many of whom had been left homeless as rampaging Nigerian Soldiers burnt down or destroyed virtually every house in the community In the video below, an indigene of the community narrated to a BBC Reporter how an arguement over N2000 led to Soldiers burning Izombe community down. According to him, some youths of the community had constituted themselves in 'tax collectors' collecting money from oil Tankers engaged in oil bunkering that passed through the community. The youths would then 'settle' Soldiers to look the other way. Trouble started when an argument between two group of youths on how to share N2000. One of the youths called his Army friend on the phonr to come into the matter, and when the Soldiers arrived, things got worse. One of the Soldiers then shot and killed an Izombe guy which caused the restive youths to disarm and lynch the Soldiers. When reinforcement Soldiers arrived and saw their comrades dead, they went about burning every house down. Another Izombe indigene all recounted how when the Soldiers got tired of burning houses down, they went to a restaurant which the owner had fled in the mayhem, brough out the pot of food, ate to their fill then burnt the restaurant before they finally left. The Nigerian Army spokesman, Brigadier Nwankwo, would later claim that it was IPOB that burnt Izombe down, and not Soldiers 1 Like 1 Share

Hundreds of civilians fled their homes when suspected fighters of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) attacked Damboa town in the southern part of Borno last night, sources said. It was learnt that the ISWAP fighters rode on utility vehicles to storm the town at about 5:30pm, raining bullets on-air as civilians ran into bushes. An aid worker who did not want his name in the print disclosed that they heard heavy gunshots and there was confusion everywhere because it was already getting dark when the insurgents penetrated the town. “Hundreds of people are in the bushes as we speak now, the heavy gunshots were scary and there was a state of confusion in the town as women and children were crying. “They entered into the town but some policemen said they voluntary left after about an hour of gunfire. A security source who spoke to our correspondent said the attackers who came with several Anti-Aircraft guns (AA) attacked the Mobile Police Base and overpowered the riots police before moving into the town. “They came with several AA guns mounted on utility vehicles, shooting heavily and attacked the Mopol base but unfortunately they overpowered the police before entering into the town. This came less than 24 hours after the group also attacked Kwada village in Chibok where four soldiers were severely wounded and one armoured personnel carrier (APC) was burnt down with a gun truck equally stolen from troops. Sexual assault is alarmingly common in the U.S. military, and more than half of the victims are men.
