Football is arguably one of the most weird game one could ever see out there. It is indeed strange how instantly people can be praising you then all of a sudden, they will turn against you. Over the years, we have seen the fans of some football clubs turning against their players after a bad show or for perceived lack of commitment.

In general, rival fans also do derive pleasure from mocking a player, maybe for not doing enough or for scoring cheap goals. One player who has been a victim recently is Cristiano Ronaldo. Upon joining Manchester United from Juventus, the Portuguese striker was only able to score goals from a few yards out in his first couple of games, a fact that attracts much criticism from fans across the world that he hardly score from outside the box. However, that seems to have changed in recent times as the Portuguese striker has popped in with Impressive strikes of different kind. One question that we would like to analyze in this article is, Why has everyone suddenly stopped calling him a tap-ins merchant?

Football fans across the world are fond of criticizing players, forgetting that those players are capable of coming up with moments that can silence critics forever. Over the course of his career, Cristiano Ronaldo has proven that he is always motivated by criticism and anytime they criticize him of doing something, he always come up with something special that will silence critics.

One thing that has happened in the last few weeks that has stopped people from talking about Ronaldo scoring tap-ins is the fact that the Portuguese forward has been scoring some beautiful goals recently. Against Atalanta last week, Ronaldo rose highest to meet a sublime Luke Shaw cross to give United all three points. At Tottenham, Ronaldo scored from an almost impossible angle, while his two goals at Atalanta were beautiful to behold too.

While I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion and anyone can say what they feel like saying, I believe criticizing a player of Ronaldo's pedigree is wrong. He has scored nine goals for United this season in all competition, and at least five of those goals have been outstanding, so why criticizing him for always scoring tap-ins? Undoubtedly, Ronaldo is a complete player that scores all kind of goals.

He has responded perfectly well to his critics once again, and he will continue to do so, as long as he is still playing football.
