Anambra Election: Police Officers Protest Over Non-Payment Of Feeding Allowance by obembet(f): 7:40am On Nov 06, 2021 |
Police officers deployed for Saturday’s governorship election in Anambra State have protested the alleged non-payment of their feeding allowance. The officers, on Friday, demanded that the N10,000 approved for their feeding should be paid immediately. The cops, many of whom arrived Anambra during the week, were not given accommodation. According to a video made available to goldmynetv on Friday, the officers gathered at Idemili Ogidi Police Division, chanting “pay us our money.” “Here are policemen protesting over non-payment of Election feeding allowance. 10,000 naira is the amount for feeding. Meanwhile, over three days now, no accommodation and no food to eat. Many of the junior ranks are stranded in Idemili Ogidi Division where they received 1,500 police personnel from Lagos State,” an affected senior police officer said. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jb91O-WbPFw Source: https://www.instagram.com/tv/CV7HugwFJZv/?utm_medium=share_sheet Edited: Obembet 2 Likes

If INEC cannot meet up their demand they should go and liase with the PDP (The party of sharing). The PDP should have some package for them, at least 1k and a can of Hero beer. After all they were dolling out #400 and a can of malt to the electorates. 25 Likes 3 Shares |

Hun! Well its not new. They may have used their allowance to buy vote. This is the way they steal during elections in Nigeria especially between 2015 and now...it's called systematic and technical corruption. The oga at the to would say, Mr IG, please we need to deploy 35k policemen for Anambra Election and he'd say yes sir! He goes to aso vila and signs for 35k officers and their equivalent allowance and money would be released. Meanwhile, only 10k officers will be deployed while the allowance for the 25k would be used to buy votes and oga IG would be well settled for his cooperation. The allowance for each officer eventually deployed could be 20k per day for instance, but the IG would reduce it to 15k while other senior officers would also take their own. Eventually, maybe only what each officer would get could be 5k. This money would be difficult to be sorted cos of the processes involved in pilfering those allowance from the top hence, the delay in getting the allowance across to each officer deployed. In as much as I don't like Nigeria policing system, our officers are suffering. I prescribe the Jerry Rawlings-like revolution in Nigeria. Until this happens, we're joking. 8 Likes 1 Share |

I wonder why soldiers can’t be sent to shoot these ARMED protesters. Why is the government being reasonable with these protesters and not threatening or bullying or killing them like the would do to unarmed young protesters. When that one start? Where is the tear gas? Water cannon? None of that? This is to tell you that the death of any peaceful unarmed protester is expected and ACCEPTABLE by the government. They are prepared to receive such eventualities because they know what would happen if soldiers are sent to disperse protests and that’s why they’ve not sent soldiers here. 31 Likes 2 Shares |
