Discrimination against anyone because of his faith or religious affiliation ordinarily is wrong and truth be told, what prof chronicled as being meted out against Yoruba Muslims, is suffered by Christian minorities in the north. Some of them had to literally change their names in order to work with the government or have their children admitted to schools. This is part of the Nigerian problem we have to deal with.
The only difficult position this puts some of us is the rather unfortunate coloration some bad elements among the Muslim ummah have given that religion and some verses in the Qur'an that they find difficult to explained away. For instance those that command Muslims to attack and kill people of other faiths.
I have known many Muslims who don't obey that and live in peace with people of other faith, however the fact that those verses are there and some Muslims who believe they are more obedient practice them makes everyone dealing with Muslim to thread with caution. In the Christian bible there are such texts too in the old testament, we however believe that the teaching and lifestyle of Jesus is our perfect example and final authority super ceding the old testament.
So if a Christian is radicalized I.e becomes born again, he is expected to love and forgive his enemies 70x7 times in a day and turn the other cheek. If however a Muslim is radicalized and wants to obey the most demanding aspect of Islam by following the prophet Mohammed's example and lifestyle, he has to practice jihad against people of other faith as Mohammed did. So our Muslim friends who value peaceful coexistence for which we are very thankful are by the Qur'anic standard living in disobedience to the plain teachings of Allah. So it can be seen why some folks out there tend to discriminate against Muslims. Take a look around the world, it is largely Muslims versus different faiths. Islam versus Hindus in India, Islam versus Christians in Indonesia, Islam versus Jews in the middle east etc. This is my honest submission.
