You made the right decision brother. Naija no be about wetin u use graduate again. You can have first class and still spend years looking for a good job. Just have connections and you're good to go in this country.

I graduated with 2.2 and I could have upgraded it with a little money but I swore to myself I would never sort any lecturer until I left school and that's what gave me the boldness to proudly accept my 2.2. atleast it was honestly gotten. I'm now preparing to go for masters next year.

One thing I Sha know be say no be by who Sabi book pass, na God dey show mercy.
Your last statement Said it All sir, most Fools think is their certificate that will take them far in life then God leave them with the stupid certificate.

I think your question is more about time than it is about grade, is one willing to sacrifice a year for a 2:1 or take a 2:2 and decide on what to use that same year for? If I were a student like you I would have taken a short at a 2:1 but as an entrepreneur today I won't trade a year for a 2:1.

One important thing people don't realise early is that 2:1 merely gets you to the door of employment into organisation, it doesn't guarantee you get the job or succeed in the job. It just get one close enough, which sometimes is all that is necessary.

In today's world a degree doesn't guarantee success in life, investment in self education is what guarantees a future. We have entered into the fourth industrial revolution and not up to 5 university in Nigeria offer courses that pertains to IR4.0, the world is drifting towards alternative energy, Blockchain technology is threatening our banks, data is the new gold etc.

I will suggest you forget about your 2:2 and start working on becoming a global citizen, go check for skills of the future, read about them and decide on one of them to focus on go online and get courses on it the beauty of it all is that many of these courses are free, join forums and professional bodies on your desired skills be active in such forums so that when opportunity comes you will be remembered. If you can follow through with this, before you get deployed for nysc , 2 years after you will be miles away from your peers.
The best comment I ever read today, but he is at liberty to choose his choice, it has always been Said our choices make us.
I graduated with 2.2 And thank God I'm doing very good,.

Only mentally deranged people feel like If they don't make a 2.1 or first class they can't make it life, wole soyinka graduated with a 2.2 or less sef , look at the man today , it's not by grades ,u could build yourself in a good way that would make employers rush you ,it all about what up stairs not what on paper ,so embrace your 2.2 op and continue moving forward in life.

Learn a lucrative skill , hustle up to have multiple sources of income ,save and save again , invest , re invest , take calculated risks , read Forbes magazines, think of business ideas , think of ways to solve people's problem and get heavily paid in return, grab chances ,scout for opportunities, embrace gratitude ,let go of pride ,think outside the box and most of all be close to God ,that the only way you could achieve ur dreams faster .
He will understand when he comes to the labour market

You made a bad decision, no one recruits a 2.2. You will have to start targeting banks if you want to work in corporate Nigeria

Wow This is great. for sometimes I have tried to learn some I.T Skills but in the course of learning the skills I always got discouraged. This sadden my heart, I wish to take the opportunity of the current trend of Tech Skills domination of job markets, Though I do not have I.T academics background maybe that is the reason of poor understanding of Tech skills.

That is IT for you, no matter what, it will be as if you are wasting your time, and you will stop learning at some point. It happens to me, that's why I was learning all those unrelated courses, till I define my career goals with the help of my mentor.

The only advice I will give people like you is:
1. Do not learn alone, make sure you are in a group of people that are willing to learn, with this, you guys will be driving each other.
2. Get a personal tutor that will be so blunt, and s/he must be some you can run to at any time of the day, and the person must be ready to help you even at odd hours of the day.
3. Pray for mercy of God to locate you.

Goodday, Please can you point me in the right direction. I have little skill in SQL, POWER BI, and Excel. I am looking for a remote data analytic internship. Thanks.

OladiTwo5:

I did some IT training(CCNA, Mobile app development and I also learn SQL), later on, I got an internship role on data analyst(because of my little or no SQL skills) and without getting paid for like 1 good year.

The experience I gathered during my internship is what is paying off now.
I'm almost at the edge of being a Machine Learning Engineer

I've also worked for like 3 top companies in Nigeria.

The only time my education certificate features is when I have accepted the companies offer, and I am call me for documentation

Bros, I no fit lie you, to get a data analyst role is kinda difficult now because alot of people are into it, not to talk of internship. But with God, i believes everything is possible. But keep building your skill something will surely show one day.
