LMAO I'm a monkey, so when I first read the casting news for idol: the coup, I saw that the main leads were Hani, Kwak si yang and Kim min kyu and I was so excited because I love them all. I remember coming here to say that I was happy to see min kyu again even though I was tired of seeing him play supporting roles, I was like since it's a drama about idols I'll probably hear his beautiful voice lewl that was because I was thinking it was my husband actor and singer Kim min kyu born in 1994, it was after I watched episode 1 that I realized omG it's my husband, actor, singer and produce x101 contestant Kim min kyu born in 2001. Lol anyway both mens are my mens so it doesn't matter. Anyway I really like the drama, lol a lot of people are complaining about how depressing it is and I'm like well that's life baby, the idol/celebrity life is not all sunshine and butterflies, there is a lot of pain and as someone who stans a lot of kpop groups I have seen this story play out over and over again and it's just pure facts. It's sad and fickle how one day you're up and the next day you're struggling to survive as an idol. It doesn't help that the agencies basically don't care about you if you aren't making them any money, once a trendier new group debuts its to the curb with you and the sad part is once you taste that stardom, it's really hard to just give it all up. No matter how hard the situation gets there's still a part of you that's hopeful that you can rise again, honestly it's a mess and I wish every group/idol I Stan could stay "relevant" forever but *sigh*. I really really love the cast of this drama, they might not all be great actors but they have all lived and experienced "failures" in their careers that they are able to pull the emotions from their experience and it is just perfection, especially the girls. Hani went through a lot before joining exid and even then it took years for them to become popular and now, well, I'm not even sure there's an exid. Exy is playing someone who joined their group after leaving her failed group and that is really her life, her first agency went bankrupt which was what led her to joining starship and cosmic girls and even though they did have popularity, they are no longer at the height they used to be, this one that starship is even debuting a new girl group soon, I hope they'll still be at the top. Solbin is a member of laboum and even though they are so talented they don't the popularity they should have, in fact the one and only time they won an award on music bank, netizens accused them of rigging the votes which was just absurd cos that song was really good but it's like Korea thinks they don't deserve good things or something, it doesn't even help that they lost a member who didn't know that God made a wonderful invention called condoms, she had to leave after getting pregnant. Green recently debuted with redsquare and till now I'm not even sure people know who they are, in fact if not that I saw her on solbin's IG story, I wouldn't even know who she is. I've always known Han so eun as an actress but she's so pretty that I feel like she might have tried to be an idol before and if she hasn't well she's a great actress so... (p.s: lol why has she been acting good girl roles lately, I hated her so much in class of lies and I've been looking forward to her playing a bi!tch again). Now to the guys, Kwak si yang has been in a band that didn't succeed, Kim min kyu my baby tried to be an idol but couldn't pass through px101 (although I'm not gon lie, there were contestants stronger than him) but when their CEO basically said his talent was his face, I remembered a lot of comments were made like that when he was on the show, Hong EUn ki was a contestant on produce 101 and even if he couldn't make it to wanna one, he did promote with rainz and they disbanded after one year, baek seo hoo was a contestant on world Klass but couldn't make it, and then we have Lee eun sang who was successful in px101 but they disbanded because of the rigging by the producer. So basically these babies have gone through a lot and are honestly still going through a lot so they are just perfect for their roles. I also like how they interview real "failed" idols and trainees before each episode. My heart breaks for them and I hope they all find happiness, make some lemonade out of whatever lemons life gives them. But me sef, how will I finish a depressing jtbc drama and jump into another depressing jtbc drama, my mates are busy watching romcoms and I'm here crying lol. Loved seeing my narsha cameo sha

Firstly, who is in charge of costumes lately, everyone looks fatter or is it my eyes?
I'm glad Kim Min Kyu made it as an actor atleast. I don't find the drama that depressing cuz it's a storyline I'm familiar with but it shouldn't be boring abeg.

LOL is it not a good thing if they look like they've added weight, maybe Koreans have finally realized that they don't need to look like a stick to make it in life, or maybe it's just the camera that is used for the filming, some cameras tend to make people look bigger, I don't know jare, I'm just happy everyone looks healthy and if you notice in the scenes from 2016 they look tinier than they do in the present so it might be the camera or maybe just tighter costumes. Yeah the drama is not depressing just sad but you know translation problems, netizens might have used other synonyms but Google translate will do whatever the heck it wants lol. I don't find it boring Sha at least not yet, but the episodes are long abeg. As for Kim min kyu, he's OK and I hope he works to improve himself before he becomes totally forgotten, also jellyfish needs to do more in promoting their people abeg. It's a mess right now

On today's episode of wahala be like koin koin shoe. The park Brothers are in trouble, park yu hwan was arrested for smoking weed in Malaysia or wherever and honestly I'm just like mtchew why not go smoke in America or a country where weed is legal, you brought this on yourself tbh. I tire for those boys, he had such promise but I don't know if it's his brother's issues that affected his life this bad cos Koreans know how to cancel people and all their family members. As for yoochun, Aigoo his ex agency is suing him and has banned him from working and actually for the first time in a long time I think yoochun is innocent here and this agency is just taking advantage of him since he's "fallen from grace", apparently he signed with another agency while his contract had not ended, he said he found out that the CEO was embezzling funds and he didn't want to be involved with him any longer, he tried to meet up with him and cancel the contract but the CEO wouldn't meet him so he left for the new agency, meanwhile CEO said yoochun never tried to meet him and since he still has a contract they do have the right to sue him. Aigoo can this man catch a break, I really believe the CEO is lying but there's nothing anyone can do if he doesn't release yoochun, I'm just here hoping this doesn't drive that one back to drugs cos he's been low key trying to get his life back on track. But honestly can yoochun take a long break from this celebrity thing. I'm sure if he comes back in his 40s his fans will still ride for him and it'll be a good redemption story, all of this is just too much
