Another traffic diversion even as Yuletide is approaching? Why not start in January when most Easterners would have travelled home? Several roads are even shut at the moment. This doesn't make sense. 2 Likes |

That road has been the only alternative getting to island/Lekki areas through costain roundabout to 3rd mainland bridge since the never ending road construction started at CMS. Now the road is about to be closed while CMS is still under heavy construction gridlock.... Make it make sense Mr Pointus. For the record: I'll keep saying it every time, the solution to ease traffic congestion in Lagos is not more roads and bridges or train, it's just good laws. Ask me how?: When our politicians and fortunate Nigerians go abroad to developed countries they enjoy decent and standard public transport, but when they return to Nigeria the see public transport as for the very poor. What the government in Lagos should do instead of wasting land space that they don't even have in the first place to build more roads and bridges or train is to; 1) Place heavy taxes on private cars (with no exceptions to politicians and ogas at the top): This will lead to almost 70-80% of cars disappearing from the roads within a year, this taxes should be paid daily, weekly or monthly but not yearly. These people who will then dispose and abandon their cars will then need decent public transport (buses) which should be provided at various rate by the government depending on the level of comfort the individuals desire.
