So that defeats your postulation that dribblers can't play for top teams no more. Neymar is still elite too, and he is renowed for dribbling and showboating though most often than not, purposely

grin

Partially, showboating and dribbling is simply what you differentiate in the last Paragraph of your Post.

Football was an Art but until recently. Football is now Science. Managers are following Frederick Winslow Taylor's Theory with their tactics and Lineup.

You've got to follow every detail of their Instructions, otherwise you'll be benched or discard. All Tom and Jerry wanna play from back now. All Managers wanna play tiki taka or ghen ghen football.

Wide Players are allowed to dribble but not often, except there is no other option or wanna breakdown stubborn wall.

Not a Fan either, but we've got no Choice to be candid. Let's look at this Thread, how many invited Strikers so far had good rating aside Osimhen?!

Onuachu was barbecued same as some previously invited Strikers. Even Awoniyi that played just for few minutes was barbecued on this Thread as well.

Simple question you no gree answer

Be bold and tell me pep not including ronaldinho on his plans means what

grin

Andrew...... Ronaldinho was an Entertainer, also a great footballer. He saw football an Art and so well he entertained the World.

This is Era of Stats, you know I don't like Bruno despite his rich Stats for United so far. If we are being honest, Gaucho gonna find it difficult to play for any top team presently.

He must showboat, you can't take that away from him. He's artistic with ball at his feet, you think Tuchel or Klopp gonna appreciate that?!

Every top Manager wanna play swift football from Defence to Attack. They want their players mastering off ball movements and decisive passes..... can Gaucho function in that kinda setup?!

Football is no more Art but Science.... following Frederick Winslow Taylor's Theory. Hawthorn Effect is what make Players like Gaucho succeed.

Ivica Iliev is responsible for the notable signings of Everton Luiz, Leonardo, and Seydouba Soumah, but the former Partizan executive is more impressed with his connection to Umar Sadiq’s move to Serbia

Former Partizan Belgrade sporting director Ivica Iliev has expressed his admiration for prolific Nigerian striker Umar Sadiq.

Iliev has lauded Sadiq as one of the most successful transfers in Partizan’s history while hailing his role in the signing of the Nigerian for the Serbian giants.

After bursting to prominence as an exciting youngster at AS Roma and spending time on loan at Bologna, Torino, and NEC Breda, Sadiq’s profile declined following a failed loan move at Scottish side Rangers.

He was tagged a flop after making just one league appearance and failing to impress then-Gers boss Steven Gerrard.

But Partizan took a gamble on Sadiq in 2019, signing him first on a temporary deal and making his stay permanent in 2020 after a string of excellent performances in Serbia and the continent.

The former Nigeria U23 striker joined Almeria last year and has developed into the most valuable player in the Spanish Segunda Division.

Some of Europe’s most significant clubs, including Bayern Munich and Manchester City, have even been credited with an interest in the 2016 Olympics bronze medalist.

Iliev, a Partizan director between 2015 and 2019, has watched with satisfaction how Sadiq has flipped the switch from being tagged a flop to being chased by the continent’s finest.

And the former Energie Cottbus forward has applauded the Nigerian’s character in the face of criticism.

“I follow Sadiq because we can have many benefits from his good games,” Iliev told Meridian sport as per the Republika.

“I am proud of that transfer and that I brought it. He is the first foreigner who can go to a high level of European football.”

“His character is great, even though he had bugs. We had no problems, a really calm and quality guy. Everything that was written about him was with bad intentions.”

Sadiq, who banged in 20 league goals last term, has hit seven goals to power Almeria to the top of the Segunda Division, six points ahead of second-place Eibar after 15 rounds of matches.

The Turkish side have a Nigerian player on loan in the Belgian top-flight, but he wants to quit in January due to a lack of opportunities

Soccernet can confirm that Galatasaray forward Jesse Sekidika wants to leave Oud-Heverlee Leuven when the January transfer window opens.

Sekidika has not been able to get on the good books of Oud-Heverlee coach Marc Brys, and he is seeking a move away from the club, Soccernet has learnt.

Sekidika is on loan at Oud-Heverlee Leuven from the Turkish Giants, but his time at the club has been far from ideal.

The 25-year-old has found opportunities hard to come by, with just three appearances so far this season.

Sekidika is yet to make an appearance in the Belgian Jupiler League, although he has played two times in the Champions League qualifying round and once in the Europa League.

The former Konyaspor attacker had hoped to put his career back on track with a move to the Belgian club, but his relationship with the coach has denied him game time.

It now remains to be seen where he ends up in January, although a move back to his parent club is also a possibility.

Ronaldinho doesn't showboat often he dribbles..

showboating means showing off and in football it means doing feints and staying in the same spot.

You don't know the difference between dribbling and showboating.

Awoniyi is not good enough at the moment to be in that list.

Ejuke needs to move to a bigger league where he can become a Saint-Maximin (who was at Nice some years back dribbling as he is now but no one knew him then because Ligue 1). Same with Moffi.

I personally rate Sadiq higher than all our strikers except Osimhen. He showed his quality right from the Olympics at 19. I have a feeling that he will be the next Nigerian attacker to make a big money move. Guy is pace + finishing + football sense combined into a large frame. If he can work on using his strength well, he could be a young Ibrahimovic.

Sadiq is doing well in a second division but you think he is better than those doing well in top leagues. That’s very interesting.

In top leagues, you don’t get the space or freedom to run and you have to face big tough defenders, unlike what he is facing in that second division.

He needs to prove himself

You rating sadiq ahead all our strikers apart from osimhen remains your personal opinion

Expect no big money move from sadiq as he will click 25 next February, unless you will call a 20 million euros move a big money move ,I don’t think his transfer fee will be more than that

Sadiq needs to do all these things in a top league and I hope he get to move to a top league soon

Sadiq is not better than any striker in rohr list currently and that’s on period

...... we are damn funny on this Thread walahi. We do rate our Players beyond Imaginations. We ain't in the 90s and Fans here should try to understand. This is no Era of Okocha, even Ronaldinho won't be able to play for a top Team in this present Epoch.

Football is no longer built on individual brilliance, its now rather built on Teamwork. Adama Traore, a fine Dribbler, yet playing for Wolves. Tactically, it'll be difficult at AFCON to rely on individual brilliance to win Matches.

Africans are rugged, and Defenders are ready to end your Career for you, if you try to mesmerise around them.
Hmm,
On Ronaldinho and Okocha.
Hope u not serious about ronaldinho,

Coaches looks at d type of talents of which a player is,they can decide to coach d player to play the way they want him to play.

Talk about talents,do u know how many goals Okocha and Ronaldinho scored through freekicks and panalties?
Do u know how many assists Ronaldinho and Okocha has?
How about defence spliting passes that usually leads to goals?
Even with the dribbles,do u know how many goals ronaldinho and okocha scored just because they can dribble?

Ronaldinho and Okocha is not all about dribbles but, ingenuity, ability, skills and unquestionable talents.

Coaches of this era will b falling head over heels to have a talent like Ronaldinho and Okocha.
Okocha was just unlucky to b born on this part of the world, otherwise he would have achieved more n regarded as one of d best.

U truly mistake okocha n ronaldinho to players like pius ikedia, adama traore and chudera ejuke.

Okocha and ronaldinho r not just generational talents but once in a life time talents.

Actually many countries in Africa. Cost of internet in Nigeria is very high. Cost of internet in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia and some other African countries are way cheaper and better than ours... If they internet will be cheap, with stead electricity for people to charge their phones and importantly, for all the rural areas in Nigeria to have atleast strong fast 4g internet, then we can gladly claim the king of social media in Africa.

Dribblers are easily neutralized by tactically sound teams. You don't win Ballon d' Or by the number of dribbles completed.
A mastered dribbler is an asset to d team,
Maradona won against england because he was able to complete his dribbles.

Adam Traore is an average player not to be compared with a legend like Ronaldinho.

Ronaldinho’s magic changed the outcome of games in a blink of an eye within a second and all he did was to win a game either to assist or score a goal.

He will enter the best clubs currently in the world right now.

Na dis kind player Real Madrid and Chelsea like. Even Barcelona and PSG go rush am fast fast.
