Nigerian banks can stop the deceptive trading practices by foreign loan sharks in Nigeria.
Do you know that the worst loan apps used in Nigeria are owned by Chinese Smart Alecs connected to the most popular affordable smartphones in Nigeria?

These Chinese operators have taken advantage of the widespread poverty in the most populous country in Africa to exploit the poor masses.

Many of these online money lenders prefer borrowers who are employed with regular monthly incomes. But in many cases, majority of the defaulters have been workers who have not been paid their salaries for months and those who have lost their regular jobs.

Many defaulters have complained about harassments by these Chinese loan sharks who have sent them threats with defamation of their characters of which a defaulter took the most notorious loan shark in Nigeria to court for the stigma and trauma caused by the embarrassment and harassment he suffered and won the case.
Thereafter, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has imposed a sanction of N10 million on an online lending platform, Soko Lending Company Limited (Soko Loans), for data privacy invasion.

Most of the threats of the loan sharks are sent by SMS or Whatsapp like the following:
This is to inform the general public that Mr. JAPA Gbese *** with telephone *** is a chronic debtor and a fraudster. He is on the run after duping a lending money company. You are advised to stay clear from him.”
Then followed with persistent phonecalls by different agents to harass the defaulters.

These Chinese operators cannot operate these businesses in their communist Republic of China, because the Chinese government will not approve the operations of loan sharks. Therefore, these greedy Chinese Smart Alecs have relocated to Nigeria and other African countries where the corrupt government administrators are their partners in crime and shareholders.

The leading Nigerian banks should offer lower interest rates for small loans to all their customers and through POS vendors and they will end the notorious activities of these loan sharks in Nigeria.
