Subzero047: It's time we dead the two man strike partnership abeg... It's making our midfield lean.... If at all we are to play two strikers up front, it should be in a 3-5-2 not 4-4-2 .. |

Oasis001: This is why not too long ago Rohr to rightly so said Victor O. is too light weight and preferred Ighalo. Well for all the abuse he gets he was very CORRECT Ighalo comes away from AFCON as highest goal scorer. Now things have changed he is not so lightweight but then can aggressive play overcome physicality in THE AFCON. Time will tell. 2 Likes |

Joebie: Big difference the players we had then were top players and top players in their respective leagues and clubs. Consider Olise Jjay Finidi Yekini Amokachi Ikpeba Amunike Sia Sia Ekoku Adepoju None of our current strikers are better than Yekini, Ikpeba , Amokachi None of our wingers are better than Finidi Nobody pass Jjay and Olise or Sia Sia Okechukwu the defender no get mate for the current Eagles Westerhof had very good reason to tbe very confident. I am sorry but Rohr is just being real. 2 Likes 1 Share |

fabyom: Stop having delusions of grandeur. If we meet Mali with our full team right now, I doubt if we can come out with a draw. We don’t even have up to five players in UCL, teams like Morocco, Senegal and co. with actual world class players are not even making mouth like this. The good thing we have is decent squad depth, and hat is mostly in attack. Midfield is lean, defense has plenty names but mostly poor players really. The only promising players in defense are Zaidu, Awaziem, and possibly Zainab/Bassey. The rest have reached their ceilings. 4 Likes |

Onyeka’s game has really improved. Why don’t we try Aribo further forward like he does at Rangers (definitely not as a RW where Gerard usually plays him, maybe as an Iwobi replacement at AM)? 3 Likes 1 Share |

JohnBullMySon: Shocking Meanwhile will this AFCON still take place in Cameroon, who are fighting a bloody existential threat with Ambazonia separatists. Also take into consideration the Boko Haram insurgency in the North. And in in addition the long standing despotic ruler Paul Biya fighting any political opponents and murdering human rights. Is it safe to go to Cameroon, I wonder |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by drDoom3(m): 11:42am On Nov 13, 2021 |
With Rohr, we will never get the free flowing attacking football our players are capable of. He is just too conservative. It is not his fault though, but if we want to move forward, we need a Belmadi-esque coach that can play organized, disciplined, free-flowing attacking football. |

Real Madrid's link to Ndidi doesn't necessarily mean he is going to Spain. It just means the other clubs interested in him will now step up. This is his last season with Leicester. 2 Likes |

drDoom3: Awaziem is not a quality players by any stretch of the imagination, Zaidu is fast but average . What happened to Aina , not much talk about him here. Despite getting relegated with Fulham ,he did very well in the EPL. Our defence is not very good. Ekong has been OK at Watford but not outstanding , Balogun has done above average at Rangers ( but then it's the Scottish League) not very competitive. Omeruah has been " just there" nothing to report that's outstanding. What is Jamui and Shehu doing there 7 Likes |

komekn:No difference whatsoever. Any nation will most likely say the players of the past are better than their present crop of players. Brazil will say so, France will say so, Netherlands will say so, Spain will say so. It's no excuse for the coach to keep seeing his team as losers. You work with what you have. Westerhof did not have the best players in Algiers 90 but he got to the final. Later He promised to deliver 94 and he did. It is all about his mentality. And then all those players you mentioned, apart from Amokachi, Finidi, and Yekini the others were not regulars for their clubs as at Westerhof's Era. Jay was usually a sub in Eintrach Frankfurt, Sia was not frequent for Nantes, Oliseh in Belgium was just picking up. How come Keshi won Afcon 2013 with carpenters and farmers at least compared to this current crop of players? Faith and Belief. Rohr has no belief. 1 Like |
