1998, my grandmother
2008, my best friend died in my hand.
2012, my mom Aunty.

Dead body is more or less non living things in the house, tho I always scared to hear someone dead. But once it's confirmed, we do the necessary things

My mum cry . I was the one with her when she breathed her last in the midnight and I had to stay with her because it was too late for any other family to journey down to us.

And I wasn't scared which was quite surprising for someone like me that grew up scared of shadows and imaginary ghosts up till my adulthood.

When i was younger i wouldn't go in to sleep and would rather doze sitting up till everyone was done gisting on the verandah late in the night and when I was older I wouldn't sleep with the lights off.

What always amazed me about that night was that she was still warm when I suddenly woke up from a sudden waft of cold but she had already passed on. But by day she was already cold, stiff and heavy.

I even had to quickly cut and sew the white clothes she was buried in myself, help wash her and clothe her for the jannazah. I kept wondering if that was the same person i knew all my life lieing so cold and immobile. Till today I can't stand the smell of lux soap because she was bathed with it and a sick sweetly smell permeated the air during and after. I wasn't even if the smell was from the lux, from the dead body or just a mixture of the two.
I Can relate...How are You now?

That was my late sister, back in 2013......She was lying down in her room lifelessly....And no one was around...The worst part was that where she was living was a very remote area where there weren't neighbours........ The minute I arrived, all of a sudden,na once rain begin fall cheesy. You can imagine that kind of scary scenario cheesy. But I wasn't really scared tho, because she was my closest sister, whom I had always confided in angry. If I no fit see her run when she was sick and alive, why then should I be be scared and run away from her corpse...........

So I used her cloth to cover her corpse, and waited till the rain stopped......Then I ran back home to inform my dad and other siblings sad

I no dey forget that day..

What sickness was that if U don’t mind me asking

I remember the day my very good friend died in a bike accident cry Opone Maximilian.
May you continue to rest in peace.
I can vividly remember that day,few days to 2018 FIFA world cup, when we received the sad news.
I have to rush down to the hospital to confirm my self..behold i saw my very good friend laying motionless as if he was in a deep sleep cry.
He has been confirmed dead already by the Doctor,no one one was willing to carry him down to the mortuary probably because they are afraid of dead bodies or what.
It was only me and one good Samaritan and the ambulance guy that carried his dead body to the mortuary.
That was the first day I stepped my foot inside mortuary.. Mehn u have to be brave and man enough to handle the situation there. cry
Dead bodies littering everywhere..truly this life is vanity upon vanity.
Honestly, real real vanity i must say.

When I lost my dad. Watched him take his last breath in the hospital. Surprisingly I didn't even show any outward reaction. Nobody there even knew someone just died (except me, my gf who was with me and the nurse). I was just concerned about what and how to break it to my mum.

Exactly that feeling you have "that anyone who wants to die can die". May God forgive me, I felt so after I lost my dad. But now I don't have such thoughts any more
I think it is only me that felt so if i heard that someone is dead..

No sympathy since i lost my Dad too cheesy

Well for me, it’s just few minute ago. I was shit scared when they told me to go help them carry him so we can take him in a car to hospital.

I had to wait for my dad before I entered the house. Midway to the car, he lost his life. I was fucking scared..... I’m back alone at home while my mom and dad are still at the neighbor house.....
Nothing scary anymore... Having seen so many dead when I was very young. The dead is dead nothing to be scared about.

My mom- I only touched her hand. Till today I still regret not hugging her and placing a forever long kiss on her forehead cry

@ placing a “forever long kiss” was the exact thing I did to my late Mum’s corpse just two weeks ago.

I did it immediate the Doc pronounced her dead.

And to think that my mums corps was the closest eye contact I have ever had with a corps, talk more of kissing one.

And I am fulfilled and forever grateful that I did that.

My dad, 26th January 2021.
He took his last breath in my present, I held him till he got cold and his pupils became dilated. Was there when he was officially pronounced dead and held his hand and prayed for his soul.
I was the one who took his wrapped corpse in my car to the morgue because no ambulance wasn't available.

Touching and cutting dead bodies are part of my routine work. Humans are just like animals.

Ecc 3:18. I also said in my heart about the sons of men that the true God will test them and show them that they are like animals, 19 for there is an outcome* for humans and an outcome for animals; they all have the same outcome.+ As the one dies, so the other dies; and they all have but one spirit.+ So man has no superiority over animals, for everything is futile.
