Its like accounts, procurement, stores, ict, maintenance is a joke to u. Also didnt u read about d officer that was commended for rejecting 150m bribe that was brought to his office for illegal dealings. This kind of million dollar dealings are done in d office not on d road side, so oga can easily call his boys ‘to order’ in case of trouble

Totally disagree with this post. Is depends on the living conditions in the state u work, wife,friends you keep, spending habit.
Leave according to your means for me.
Plan yourself.
I must not send my children to private school where the pay 1 million as school fees or leave in a house where the rent is outrageous. Plan your life, I know people who earn less than that amount and still enjoy their family.
Is all about planning with your wife......

For me, that salary for L08 is more than okay
My thoughts though, don't judge me.
My brother is married for seven years now with two kids, his starting salary for his present job is 180k and he still married and leaving comfortably with the wife. Of course salary has increased over the years but he started with 180k.

Imagine saying the quoted amount no dey alright for a family man.

Let's even assume the salary reach that amount, cuz I don't know where he sees that amount from.

How many Nigerians sef dey earn close to it?
Many families in Nigeria still live on salary or income wey no pass 100k, did they die? Aren't they living well?

the salary for each level is the same, maybe allowances will differ, but basic salary is flate rate for all

Some private companies pay above 500k whilst some pay below 150k.
Having a Business is d best but it is not for everybody.

Are u advising people to reject the offer and start a business or look for a 500k job

If u keep looking at someone that earns more than u, u will never be happy in life. just plan , be contented with what u have while striving for d best.

As for me i don't even know my salary because its wasn't stated in the APL but an officer said it's above 100k

I'm still single and i don't have a child yet so that salary is what i'm going to start life with

When my friend received his APL he said 'Oboy the money big o.' He's level 8 that means he would plan and execute very well

Guys don't forget that this is a government job and its possible to increase salary anytime and you may be posted to where you might not even touch your salary

In essence, thank God you got this job. It's a job people pay millions to get. Use your salary well make them no use you as bad example

For your information most police men you see are all GD, the specialist are always hidden from public eyes

In a customs area command, 90% are all GD staffs and its them that swallow the GD benefits...

If it where a GD post, it's worth fighting for
But specialist are just normal workers like in a private company (no magu magu except lucky few top bosses that have spent 20 years)
You would be going to work as tho it is a private firm.

Don't forget that it's in the terms of employment that no government worker should own a business

I have a customs officer (ss) as neighbour and a lot of them envy businesses men and can't afford good cars, living in a rented apartment unable to building a house...
