I am barber, just turned 19 few weeks ago and I am supposed to start my uni education tomorrow but that is not the problem.

I earned upwards of 40... Maybe 60k most of which I aid my siblings with. But it's too demanding, like 14 or 15 hours a day everyday. And I have some skill trading forex but I don't do it now.

Right now I want to drop barbing and possibly school to learn blockchain development. My mom will prolly take me for deliverance. Lol.
I am buying a laptop tomorrow. Already dropped social media, right now its just Reddit and NL.

I am greatly worried about my future and tired of living inna trap.

Please forget whatever returns you are making on barbing while the income is really much personally I don't see it as a long term business except you are really able to grow it so big and of standard that it becomes a brand.

While learning blockchain or any other digital skill may take time to yield returns and most likely you will run into big challenges capable of killing your passion or commitment, the long term result is just massively overwhelming if you can focus and pull through.

As regards education I be fan of education oo, so please try and combine your academics with the side hustle, most likely you won't come out with excellent grades cause of your divided attention but make sure in that four years you master the skill. I am sure the sky wont stop you.

True talk, i started learning forex in 2019 and have gone live before n blew accounts ( mainly due to mistakes, greed etc). You are right ..there is good money in forex, i mean very good money if u know how to trade, obey money management, remove greed and all. I was even surprised to read his statement, the guy failed woefully, sorry to say he failed to learn and on the other hand i doubt what he said...15years ahh , if na me get the knowledge of forex and experience for 15 years, i would have become a multi millionare. Dont worry i will sure get there

forex trading is the best when it comes to making money and creating wealthy without any disturbance as you are always on your own. But first you have to learn. it can be the worst business if you don't understand it.
Nigerians have this attitude of becoming rich overnight. trading in the financial markets especially forex will humble you if you are coming in with that mind set.

look at cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH, ADA, do you know that these coins have independent structures? does that mean they won't retrace at anytime?
How do you know where to wait for price so that you can buy more? how do you know when to sell off some of it because it is going to depreciate in value. Many Nigerians are not interested in knowing such. All they know, I wan cash out. what is cash out?
Are you coming in with the mind set of investing or you want to gamble?

My adviso to my study has always been, learn how to trade first. trading is a serious business. when you understand the structure of the market, the Risk involved, time involved and so on, applying your skill to make money becomes very easy.

Forex trading is very difficult, but believe me, at the time forex trading is very very easy.

There is time for everything bros.
Now you have a skill, an income, an opportunity for education and more youre getting a laptop which many young people of your age cannot boast of.

Here is my advice, maintain your barbing shop and try getting your own place as soon as you get to school. Devote your spare time to learning block chain on the internet and manage your time well between classes, barbing salon and your new skill. You can train interested barbers to assist you.
At the end here is what you will get:
Robust experience in business management and delegation- a key skill in the industry
A degree
Block chain knowledge
A lot of contacts that will surely make you smile in the future.
Unlimited opportunity to take your professional development to any level without any restraint.

Dont't limit yourself at this level.

No man, I think you are missing it. You spent 15 year doing the forex stuff without any result doesn't mean is a bad business.
I spent 4 year learning forex and I am doing great. Believe me, no business or job can pay you more than trading forex, stocks, commodities, synthetics or cryptocurrencies.
The question is, did you have what it takes to trade forex?
some Nigerians has poor mentality when it comes to trading. Before you can succeed here( trading forex) you must :
1) Have the right education/information about forex as job/sector itself which include studying from forex 101, good strategy to engage the market, having a proper risk management system in place, have a trading plan you will stick to.
then, be focused, discipline and patient.
2) Psychology: Forex is 90% psychology and 10% skill.
3) Patience, patience, patience;
how do you engage the market? how do you engage the market? what is your risk tolerance level?
4) you must have a zero tolerance for greed.
Nigerians are too greedy. They want to earn it all at once. No! have a realistic target weekly and engage the market.

true! How can someone spend full 15years in the same venture without making progress?? That could be ascribed to indiscipline of the highest level (my personal opinion)

To me it all depends on your determination, dont quit school go, get your laptop start your blockchain development online... Has time goes on you can decide if you want to continue school after you have master your block chain development. Go into programming let the programming language step by step and you will be your own boss. Money will flow in. I'd suggest you try to do everything. If there's a way you can keep up with the Barbershop, please do.
Also, in the University, you'd find a lot of students like yourself who are into most if the things you're dreaming of already, like the forex, crypto et Al.
