OP,
You need to make more money. As in real money. The kind of money that stops nonsense. All you need is freelance work that gives you $2000 minimum a month. All the nonsense will stop.

Women (especially wives) need men they can look up to, not look at or look down on. People have tastes. When a woman marries, she expects her husband to elevate her status, not send her below where she is coming from. If your wife says she cannot cook with kerosene, please do not make her go back there. Make sure you can provide gas for the house COME WHAT MAY. If you were earning in dollars, it will stop all domestic nonsense.

My wife knows that even if gas is sold at N100,000 a cylinder, I am highly capable of it by the special grace of the almighty God. She boasts about me constantly before her family. During lockdown, she was in another country for some time before I was able to get back to her. I was paying all her expenses in foreign currency with no shaking. Such things bring you heavy respect. It just comes naturally. You don't force it out.

It takes a man to know his God to the extent where God will place you above economic circumstances, without stress. The problem is, how many men can bring out time to have that critical discussion with God that produces a change of destiny?

The only way you can have peace in this Buhari era is to become a goat...

Grass is free and available almost every where, no need for gas, pot etc...just pull out the size you need, munch it, drink a lot of water...gbam, you are filled..

And I am very very angry. Gas I used to buy 2800, then 3k, 4k, and 5k. Suddenly it jumped to 7500 and now (today) 9250 in Port Harcourt. I am very very angry. Let no one here disturb me with nonsense news about Buhari and his nonsense South Africa Trade fair and nonsense. No cross me today o. I fit beat person

The gas finished yesterday. I told my wife that yesterday that I will buy the gas today because I needed to get to work and somehow raise money to augment what I have to be able to buy the gas. I told her to use the kerosene stove that yesterday and this morning. Guess her reply? She said she can't use kerosene even for a day. That even her Mum in the village does not use kerosene stove. She said a few other unprintable things.
For the sake of my 3 children I still had to buy the gas today.

I had not eaten in my house for a month now. The reason is that she said that they money I gave her for upkeep in October was not enough (I give her 62.5% of my monthly salary every month for our home upkeep). As a result she refused to give me food from around the middle of the month when she said the money had finished. She cooked for herself and the children (possibly from her own salary). When I gave her upkeep money for this month I told her not bother keeping food for me so that the money will go far enough. That's where we are till now. I have no intention of ever eating her food until she acknowledges that she was wrong and apologizes.

Now I know this WON'T happen. She will rather die than admit she's wrong or apologize. This is why I know that the mistake of a marriage is heading for the rocks and I am ready for it. Nonsense and ingredients. I have endured this nonsense for 15 years. I am done. Anything whe won happen tomorrow, make e happen today.

Bros calm down. i understand your frustration, its everywhere not just your side o. Buhari dey turn everybody wife/babe to winch and husband to monkeys. just manage the sun will shine soon, 15years marriage, there must have been something real good happenng to last that long. these days 5years marriage na luck, yours have gone even far and beyond. keep it going. kudos

My brother you talk like a REAL MAN!
Very few men exist in that rubbish country!
Just be a bit patient with her. She did wrong by not appreciating your efforts even if she thinks it’s not sufficient.
She is also very selfish for not trying to cut her expenses to accommodate the challenges of Buhari era. Lastly, a woman who will not support you with her money in your temporary trying times is a Jezebel.
In summary, you either try to point her flaw with the hope that she will change her ways OR leave that marriage before she kills you (if she refuses to change).
Sadly you married a BAD WOMAN!

Lol. This issue of the rising cost of gas isn't funny anymore. I got 12.5kg last year for 3,800 naira. Now it goes for 9k. I've been a morally upright citizen but I'm tempted to bypass my metre. Electricity is manageable in my area and I have a single burner hotplate. I want to get a double burner hotplate which would reduce the way I use my gas. If I by-pass, it would also cut my electric bills. So I'll save cost on both gas and electric bills.

If you have heaven and restitution in mind, then don't try out what you are thinking.

If however you belong to the school of thought which concludes:
1. that naija is hell already and
2. that no Nigerian living within the perimeter and stratosphere of the latitude and longitude that demarcates Nigeria would make heaven given the way the country coerces her citizens to do wrong, villifying, castigating and often ostracizing the few who choose to do right,
THEN BY ALL MEANS GO AHEAD!

AFTER ALL THE CHOICE IS YOURS AND THE REPERCUSSION AS WELL grin grin grin

Don't be fooled into thinking you've made an intelligent analysis, cause sensible administrations the world over, are taking drastic measures beyond issuing checks to unemployed persons to even facing off work permits for tanker drivers, Britain attributes gas shortage to exiting tanker drivers, what's our own reason since there's more than enough reserve here? Save me trend disruptions because it only thrives where incompetence is tolerated

Same way women may not forget good or bad you did to them, men too hardly forget how you hurt them. Going from church to church later may not save a lost marriage. OP, hopefully you'll get over the hurt. Plan to provide all needed without expecting any support. If it comes, fine. Plan for an extra gas cylinder so the house isn't likely to be completely out of gas.

Funny you didn't mention PM of Denmark, you claim you're updated. Yes the hike MIGHT be everywhere, but do you know these countries still give basic Amenities to their citizens? The Biden you're comparing with the failure Buhari, gave increase in salaries, $1 per hour. What have we gained or enjoyed ever since this administration came in?

Yeah and you forgot they already had these basic amenities decades ago. Has Nigeria ever had them? Did our lack of these basic amenities start in 2015?

In case you don't know, vat was added to gas since last two months or thereabouts and that the cause of the skyrocketing price of gas. It's not covid-19 as you assumed. Take note pls

And he went on either way.

Is it just for him to 'work harder' like you put it?
What happens to the wife bringing her own money to ensure the smooth running of the home without complains?

Just because she probably used her own salary when the upkeep money he dropped finished, she refused to give him food.
And all you could deduce from the narrative is for the man to 'work harder'? As if he's not working hard enough.
Make he kill himself na because he marry the typical Nigerian excuse of women. That's why many men these days don't even live long, pressure on man too much.
