Good point. Uruguay being out is fake news. I mean, even if they don’t make the top 4, they can still qualify via the playoffs. O pari andrewbaba44: |

Yup. The African qualifiers are by far the toughest ones to navigate. And what annoys me the most is that these Arab countries only know how to compete against Sub Sahara African countries but they will collapse once they get on the world stage. I hope none of them makes it this time around. I would rather have: Nigeria Cameron Senegal Mali Congo DRc or Ghana representing Africa than the likes of Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, and Egypt. It is a crime for Africa to only have 5 spots. Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and a couple of others have what it takes to compete on the world stage. 2 Likes |

What Will Happen To Nigeria's Talented Wingers As Rohr Seems To Have Found His Favoured Formation? News Hub Creator Gernot Rohr paraded a 3-5-2 formation against Cape Verde just as he did in the previous two games against Liberia and Central African Republic. The formation meant that Rohr did not utilize any forward wingman. Instead, Moses Simon and Jamilu Collins operated as wingbacks and were tasked with providing width for the team. Since the gaffer has used this formation in the last three games and it has yielded results for the team, it is fair to say that the 3-5-2 formation may become Nigeria's go-to formation. After all, a major competition in the mould of the African Cup of Nations awaits in January and there is not enough time to experiment new formations. However, this newfound formation may mean that Nigeria's talented wingers may not play a key role in the Nigerian team. In the game against Cape Verde that sealed Nigeria's place in the third round of the qualifiers, two traditional strikers in Ighalo and Osimhen were deployed. There was no forward wingman in the lineup except Moses Simon who may have found a new position in wing-back because of his strength and stamina. Even when substitutes were brought on, Rohr overlooked the likes of Chukwueze and Ejuke and opted for central attackers like Iheanacho and Onuachu. Nigeria boasts of many talented wingers such as Samuel Chukwueze, Chidera Ejuke, Emmanuel Dennis and Samuel Kalu. However, it seems that Gernot Rohr's newfound formation may not be in favour of wingers. It remains to be seen how Gernot Rohr adjusts all these talented wingers into his formation, with top tournaments such as the AFCON and World Cup looming next year. |
