Men In the house do you think your wife can raise your kids properly if something were to cut your life short?

Very important question.

You must ensure that your family can function if you die.

for the unmarried us/we in the house..... let us read on and hear something by paying careful attention to what the married ones are saying so that will fore_arm ourself with their forewarnings cos if our own departure is not too earlier than a time appointed we will surely have this things to worry about, so it is better for us to learn and think about it now than to wait and worry about it in the future

to the single ones once again, let us keep quiet and listen because your girl friend is not your own, she is still a cloth in the market which you may price and another person you don't know will pay for it.

no they answer domestic question in the market, the difference is clear

It will be interesting to see the feedback from married men.

One of my colleagues in the profession we belong to (not a work colleague at the office) said before marrying his wife he studied her to know if she was the sort of woman who could handle things well in his absence. Whether temporary or permanent absence and he felt satisfied she could, so it was one of the reasons he married her.

Your question is one of the things I worry about and fear for women who wake up one day after two children and start insisting they want more with hubby. At the back of my mind I keep thinking........do these women understand that two children will be easier to manage, than three or more if their husbands die today or tomorrow?

Why can't they think of themselves as the 3rd or 4th child they want so badly? Because they will still need to feed, clothe and shelter themselves too, as a parent, if or when hubby dies nah. It's unfortunate that in Naija/Africa, we would rather say things like God forbid, it is not my portion! Than think strategically and plan carefully for these things.

On the other hand, widows tend to be resilient and they seem to do well by their children when hubby passes. Making lots of sacrifices and denying themselves things in the process. But, the suffer head no be here o! That's why I keep saying the fewer the better.

Interestingly, I believe women do better running things after their husband's demise than the other way round.

You mean women , many of whom were literally abandoned by their husbands, back then had no problem raising their kids alone because it was the 80s? undecided

With full confidence, yes she will. The only issue is that she might not handle it the way I will. What this means is that in terms of culture, I am not the culture person and she is. So the family may have to lean more on the yoruba culture which she believes in while right now, I just do my things the way it gives me peace.

Most importantly, both families will support her fully as right now, we all support ourselves when need be.

It is as Jesus Christ said concerning His disciples when He was still with them on earth Can the children of the bridechamber mourn (suffer), as long as the bridegroom is with them?

No woman suffers needlessly as long as her (good)husband is alive with her.

My take
Mberede nyiri Dike mana ya ka eji ama dike!

When you feel you are alone or theres no option, you face life forcefully but with options, you tend to be laid back.

Even women who are lazy as Bleep turn to hustlers in the event of Divorce or death. In fact they triumph compared to their male counterpart.

I have a life insurance through work and also thinking of getting another one that would at least pay off mortgage whenever I finally decide where to get my mortgage. Besides, she is upwardly mobile with her career as well so she should be good.

This is a funny question to ask.

Co-parenting is hard on it's own, single parenting can be so frustrating. I commend every man/woman doing so.

I wish to live long but if something happens and I fail to, you know undecided, and I had a wife and a kid before going to the other side, I'd not feel bad if my wife couldn't take proper care of our child alone because it's not easy.

Beware when you ask her the question and she says "God forbid, you will not die cheesy" you need a solid plan for your kids. Most women, wives of successful men don't see it coming until it hits hard .

A lot of women take up the responsibility well, especially sacrificing for their children. But having less children always makes things easier generally.

God should keep us till old age. Make one person no just cut short abeg.
