Amuneke isn't exactly the right man for the job..But he is the best choice available at the moment... If the NFF want to appoint a foreign coach now, they will most likely go for another mow budget journeyman like Rohr..the kind of coaches that left their comfort zones in Europe to milk off African countries who have carried the mentality that everything white is better..The coaches that can't boost of any credible trophies in their CV... It won't benefit us in the long run... That's where Amuneke comes in... He has proven that he is tactically sound, and also understand our football well, being an ex international himself...

Where and how Amuneke has proven himself to be tactically sound please?

I won't say no to Amuneke, but I am really not convinced he's gonna make a Difference. Public Sentiments favour him, hence I go with the Sentiments.

Emmanuel Amunike sacked as Al Khartoum coach

Emmanuel Amunike
Al Khartoum National Club

Former Nigeria winger Emmanuel Amunike has been sacked as coach of Sudanese side Al Khartoum SC following a string of bad results.
The former manager of Nigeria U20 joined Al Khartoum in November on a one-year deal. He had some fine results in the pre-season matches but his side have later shown poor performances on the field as they gained just 11 points from eight matches in the Sudanese Premier League.

The sacking came after a 1-3 loss against the newly promoted team Ahli Meroe, which led the club to terminate the contract with the Nigerian coach. The Al Khartoum-based side now stand fourth on the league table while Ahli Meroe hold the second spot in the league below leaders Merreikh Al-Fasher.

The former Zamalek legend previously led Nigeria to the 2015 FIFA U-17 World Cup title. He played for Zamalek from 1991-1994 before moving to Portuguese side Sporting CP and later FC Barcelona and represented Nigeria in the 1994 World Cup – the first time Nigeria appeared in the competition

Honestly! This is gambling with our chances of qualifying for the World Cup with tiki taka. With which players?

His performance with the u-17 team and Tanzania national team... Those may be small feats, but they are enough to prove that he knows much about the game...

Forget public sentiments...another thing you have to put into consideration is the fact that we need a coach that understand our football and would put in enough passion into coaching the team...

Rohr imminent sack is gathering momentums and a lot would be unravel regarding his contract details especially the $2m inserted clause....possibly heads may roll cos nigerians are beginning to ask why $2m inserted clause in his contract.

Imagine winning school boys competition made many think amuneke is over qualified to take the super eagles to greater heights?

Youth football and that of men aren’t the same ooo that is why many coaches are only good with cadet teams but can’t replicate such when given the chance in men’s football

All these back and forth arguement on whether Rohr should be sacked or not. cheesy cheesy cheesy

What I know is that he probably will be gone anyways by February because I doubt he can win the tournament with these idealogies of his. It took a last minute block by Ndidi to keep us in contention. If that Cape Verde player's shot had been on target only God knows what song we will be singing now. grin

Our greatest strength is flair from wing forwards but because of his typical fear he kept all of them on the bench.

Can't wait to get back to those exciting football with Chuks/Kalu and Ejuke/Lookman/Onyekuru on the wings and Aina/Ebuehi providing backup on the flanks.

Let's be patient till February since NFF can't afford the financial implication of sacking him now. grin

P.S. Final Playoffs will be after Afcon I believe. We can sack him then and have ample time to rally a new coach to further.

Why don't you suggest who you want to take over? So far you have just been dropping laughing emoji at every Amuneke post...

You can't accuse others or sentiments when clearly, your own sentiment drift toward a foreign coach...
So,kindly tell us who u want to manage the team..

Rohr is party to a corrupt cartel in the NFF. People are okay with it because he is white. If it was Siasia, Keshi or Oliseh, they would be screaming their throats off.

If Rohr was an average Nigerian, he would've been dead. Contract clause like this make companies in Africa do desperate things.

There is something called per capita income sir. Paying for a Guardiola now isn't a good ise of tax payers money. Money that can equip hospitals or turn around many schools.
