Because the guy had

1. Been constantly pestering her for weeks for something she could not change.

2.Entered her office, in an angry and threatening manner, slammed her desk hard, used foul language, and threatened her and the two students that were with her.(note--i got this from a third party report done from another newspaper...)

3.Even if she threw a mug...which other witnesses said she didn't, the fact is the guy had no business beating her up. He should have left her office, and gone straight to the police and lodged an assault complaint (I once knew a woman who lived in face me I face you. Was attacked by a neighbour unprovoked. She simply went to the police station and lodged a complaint. Did not hit the woman or strike her...just showed the police what her neighbour had done, and they attended to her. Yes, it became a police case....and neighbour got into soup.).

Third party report?

Well that same sch na my almaMater
Was in sch that fateful day for my missing transcript

So when I tell you there’s more that meet the eye
Believe it and if you can’t then forget it

I don't really know what to believe because some lectures can really frustrate students lipsrsealed

Well, even if she 'assaulted him'...he could have done as one patient I treated did

The patient in question was punched in the eye by one of her neighbors (they all lived in face me I face you)

By your idea...the woman should have beaten her neighbor up...especially as the attack was unprovoked.

She didn't. She went to the police, lodged a report, and then went to hospital with a police form for the doctors to fill..which she returned to the police.

Naturally the neighbor was in trobule...since there was a report with the police , with evidence.

If he had done that...gone to the police...he won't be in the soup he is now. Instead he lost his temper and beat up his lecturer, and stepped into the neat trap Shaytan laid for him.

Plus, the issue was SIWES. The woman could not waive his SIWES...and as such there was nothing he could do, but repeat the year. If that is what got him angry enough to enter a lecturer's office and beat her up, after threatening her, and after pestering her for some time, then I'm sorry but there is a lot wrong with him.

He should have not touched her. Period. Instead he did, and now he has to face the consequences.

What are you saying? So frustration will make you beat up a woman probably old enough to be your mother. Na wa ooooh. If the guy felt he was frustratd he would have done the right thing instead of going to the woman's office.
Say Amen, May you never experience frustration.

The boy is also a Muslim so..

Besides he barged into her office in a threatening way and threatened her and two other female students and beat her up.

Plus all the guy had to do was repeat his SIWES. The lecturer he was pestering could not help him the way.he wanted.
..where u there when it happened?...if u haven't gone through the 4 walls of university please avoid this thread..lecturers especially d female ones are extremely wicked

1. Where you there yourself.

2.The lecturer was not being wicked...the boy wanted her to waive his SIWES, which she could not do, and had no powers to do and which , if you read the article, the conditions FOR siwes had been toughened up.

Guy should have avoided Satan's trap by just agreeing to repeat the year, do his SIWES, pass it, and graduate. And that would have been that.

One of my seniors in medical school fell ill at the end of his 400l. He was even admitted in the teaching hospital. As a result, he had to repeat the year. He did so, graduated, and is now a big time doctor. Administrator self.

3. Guy told the lecturer he was ill. Ok bring medical report...nothing.

Dr. Rahmat Zakariya, a lecturer at the Department of Microbiology, University of Ilorin, made national and international headlines this week when her story went viral after a student, Waliyullah Salaudeen, attacked her following alleged disagreement over SIWES programme. In this exclusive interview with Daily Trust, she narrated her side of the story which has been missing from the dominant narrative out there about the incident. She also clarified what she termed misconceptions about the whole issue. Excerpts:-

She must be a joke.

She is lieing that she doesn't know how long it takes to get a medical report.

Of course not

She acknowledged she threw a mug at him in defence.

That you didn't do it does not make it right

Plus in many universities it is compulsory for some courses

Also if you read the article , the university has tightened requirements for SIWES before this case. A student had to have actually done it this time.

Practical knowledge is very useful. And I speak as a doctor who spent most of the last 3 years of my MBBS and some holidays self doing practical so to speak as we can't graduate without it

What would happen if you miss a clinical posting? You would sort it out. But some lectures are just wicked will abuse you mentally and emotionally.

It was very inconvenient AND stressful for me to do all the practical work/postings that I did to graduate as a medic...but then again, it was very very useful knowledge gained.

You should have done your SIWES. Just saying. E get why.

Plus your not doing your SIWES does not excuse the Unilorin chap. He should have done his SIWES. Especially as his university had virtually made it compulsory that he actually did it.

Plus he was training to be a microbiologist. If he had graduated without practical knowledge and ended up working in a lab in a hospital for NYSC, and one of your relations was misdiagnosed because he did not know how to identify a positive organism under the microscope because zero practical knowledge....and the relative died, who would you blame?

Plus would you agree to be treated by a doctor who had zero practical's in school? Just book?

How can you compare siwes to clinical posting?

Clinical posting you don't hunt for it.

Siwes you hunt just like hunting for internship who does that under limited time frame.

Yes and back in my day I just took it in, remained polite and learned how to live under pressure.

And no I am not that strong emotionally mind.

Plus if I missed a clinical posting I still had to do it. All clinical postings were mandatory . Even if it means extra year.

Yes you do, but you still get practical experience.

All the guy needed to do was to do it. Sorry but that's what the Ministry of education prescribes so take it up with them

Plus it still does not justify him beating up the woman.

I didn't justify his actions. It's until they add siwes to MBBS before the eyes clear.

They just added siwes to other allied health/pharmacy of recent.

Soon MBBS.

Note they also have clinical postings.

Lol that's not the proposition.

Last 3 years for PharmD programs, DPT and co are also Rotations.

And for B.Pharm programs we have labs we rotate right from entry.

This people won't spare MBBS BDS too.

Formally there was not siwes fro allied health/Pharmacy.

The case is different now.

Well, we do rotations for the last 3 years of our medical school, plus when we graduate , we do rotations as house officers, and when we go for residency, we do rotations too throughout our residency

Plus some of us spend our holidays while in university gaining practical experience at hospitals.

Most of those clinical rotations involve us learning practical skills that we would use in practice. We spend less time in class and more time on the ward, and clinics, and operating theaters. We take calls and we do work (I took my first delivery of many as a medical student on my ob/gyn rotation)

At the end of the day, we are on our own version of SIWES from 400 LEVEL upwards. Maybe for life, because after becoming a consultant, the learning never stops.

All of this does not justify someone beating up his lecturer because of him having to repeat his year to do SIWES.

Please do your research on this woman she is very wicked. This guy just allow this woman trap caught him easily. But that guy makes a deadly mistakes and he allowed strange manipulations to pushed him to do a very wrong thing.

What a pity indeed final year student.

Fellow friends this strange manipulations can happen to anybody in different ways especially when you are shinning or about to shine,it is called PROGRAMMED MISTAKES. When you notice it just calm yourself down quickly and talk less.

I swear they are...
She can't claim to be good when other students were planning of beating her up.
See, some of the people on this topic have never been frustrated in the university before, that is why their mouth is vibrating dust.
My lecturer use to assault me and my colleague in my uni days. It took so much resilience to graduate. This man tortured me ghan. E no get things wia this man no do me not because I failed his course or I was withdrawn from school, but because I and my classmate were unlikely assigned to him and he refused to allow his choose another lecturer.
Sth that my senior colleague had attempted to burn down my entire departmental block in the night because of this same man but pitted his friends and colleague and allowed the man to keep on assaulting him.
Let that woman and most lecturers in this country be thanking God that the use of firearms have not be legalize. All those frustration that they try usually meant out would have always been replied by the bullet.
