The SE coaches need to take a serious look at Dennis.. He has been excellent all season.. He is a more direct player than our other options. He does have an advantage in that he's bigger and stronger than the others. And he's likely the fastest of them all. He has speed to burn. He’s definitely worthy of a spot on the team and the coach can find a use for him as an AM, a second striker, even LW. I’d take him over Kalu or Simon on current form and definitely ahead of Musa.. We thank God for the riches we have. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Mujtahida: No one said he should research the one million players. Do a part by scouting some of the best talents in the NPFL and NNL and do some development work for them. He will be helping in mining the pool. Just as working on other sectors. 1 Like |

Danielnino00: Both Musa and Simon are not bench worthy materials, they're absolutely not good enough to start for Nigeria. But I keep on saying it that Musa is 10 times better than Simon for anyone being honest. Simon can't dribble, can't cross, and can even mark oponents. He is one of the main reason for our yeye football lately. Even the last game, the moment Shehu replaces Simon, we suddenly look like a solid football team for the last 15min or so.. 2 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: It isn't the responsibility of the senior national team to help in developing players.. That's what football academies and cadet teams are for.. Again, if the senior national team decide to take up the responsibility, how will they go about it?Most NPFL teams don't even have a proper youth team.. Some of them conduct open trails every season to select new players..Age cheating is common.. And when you add the poor playing condition of the league including poor pitches, poor coaching and officiating, you are facing something bigger! Don't forget that NPFL clubs were banned from producing players for the U-17 team because of issues like that... The league needs total overhaul... Until that happens, the senior national team has no business in helping to develop players from there.... Another big issue you aren't considering is that these "gems" don't seem like they care about the football development you are talking about... One call up and appearance for the national team, and they will be on their way to obscure leagues in Europe and the middle East... they are more interested in chasing the bag.. These are issues... I know you mean well, but like Mujtahida said, the pool is too dirty.. 3 Likes |

Joezinho: Simon played his best football for the super eagles when Vicmo was around...He and Moses inter exchanged a lot on the flanks and that gave them flexibility.. But now, he is way past it... he doesn't even have pace! As for Musa, his page has always been what he has going for him...the moment he lost it, there's not much he can offer... Sentiments is what's keeping both of them in the team... 2 Likes |

Danielnino00: I find it ironic that you took the time to define the obstacles young talented players face in this country and ended it by saying cut an opportunity for them. That does not add. With a lot of resources channeled into the national team, it is vital they contribute their quota to boost the development of players. They can come up with a strategy that will not hinder the team but in the long term can favor the team highly. As long as we have obstacles that can hold players back, we have to use all available means to help. So your theory does not add up. The goal is to keep building the national team to help us compete with the best in the world. A home-based plan can help the team in the long run. Not deter the team. 3 Likes |

Danielnino00: Players running to obscure leagues mean them getting better opportunities to improve themselves. It does not mean the chance to work with them is over. What is most important at that time is to monitor their progress. 1 Like |

Emmanuel Dennis showings in the Premier league is just proof that players can plateau at lower leagues because they lose motivation to perform there. Labelled egoistic and lazy in Germany and Belgium, yet I've seen very few forwards with his work rate or desire. 3 Likes |

Joezinho: I don't know why we are so obsessed with the AM role in Nigeria. The primary attribute of an attacking midfielder is technique which is why strikers like Lacazette, Muller, Firmino, Kane and Iheanacho can perfectly slot in there. But Lukaku, Osimhen, Aubameyang cannot survive there. Dennis is a star play, but even in his wonder performance yesterday, you could see he lacks technique. Same thing with Ejuke. Why turn a top player who can excel anywhere across the frontline (LWF, CF, RWF), into a poor attacking midfielder? 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe: The only strategy here is for the stakeholders to come together and work on how to improve the league... That's the first step... Using the national team as a means of improving the league is just a temporary measure... I thought you aren't the guy that goes for temporary measures... Keshi tried it with players like Agbim, Odunlani, Egwueke, Obaobona, Mba, Chima Akas, etc...it seem to work for a while, bit didn't last... 1 Like 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe: Chance to improve themselves? lol.... What's there to improve in leagues like Bangladesh, second and third divisions of Saudi Arabia,Kuwait, Qatar and the likes... There's nothing to improve there.. only money... Unless you aren't in touch with the reality of the league, I can give you a list of players who shown there and went to obscure leagues to "improve themselves" but have either been forgotten or back to the same league... Junior Lokosa is the latest example... 1 Like |
