Hello fam,

Please, my friend applied for an NHS Job and was shortlisted for interview. After the interview, she was told that they will get back to her the following week with the outcome. However, they didn't send a mail on the feedback to indicate whether she has been given an offer or not. After another 1 week, she sent a mail to the interviewer lead and got a reply that they are checking references that they will update her on the progress. Still, nothing was said about an offer.

Please, for those who are experienced in this, does the email they sent saying they are checking references indicate they will make an unconditional offer?

Your kind thoughts please.

That wasnt the experience of my wife. After the interview, they sent her a mail telling her that she was successful, that someone will send her an email, which they did. They sent mail to her referees , at a point one of her referees email address wasnt going, she was informed and she requested if she could change her, which they agreed to. After the confirmation of her referees, they sent her conditional offer, after that, they sent her COS and the rest is history.

What were Ts&Cs of the conditional offer? And what's her profession?

If they are checking her references, ask her to contact all her references as they might have sent a mail to them and they are yet to respond. They can't send an unconditional offer until the verification process is over. She has to be patient and allow them do their checks

She needs a practicing license. It's either she goes to a School of Nursing or she goes to UK to study Nursing

Please asking for a dear sister

TBH, I don't know much about HAC. However, you must have obtained ur English language proficiency before u are given COS. The employer should be able to tell the exact one to write which is IELTS for UKVI General wc I know of. Don't know it is done for HAC.

IELTS UKVI General training with at least a band score 4.5 overall. Not sure how that works but that’s the equivalent for the CEPR B1 English language frame that’s required for the HCA visa. There’s no harm in aiming at getting a higher score though. Good luck

Sure... It is almost impossible to score below 4.5. Except you don't understand English language at all.

Hello house. This thread has been very helpful. Been reading up the messages here and I've gained a lot. Thanks for all the contributions.
I have an in-law in the UK who's helping me out with the CoS (I sent him my passport). meanwhile I'm in the process of getting my police report, transcript and proficiency in English from my school (I've paid for all). But I haven't booked for the TB test yet till I see the CoS. I hope I'm in the right track.

Have you been offered a job? Be sure of of things before you start your preparation. The only person that can help you out with COS is your prospective employer.

You can do you TB test now but it is only valid for 6 months. Whatever the case may be, I wish you best of luck.

Good afternoon everyone. Been following this thread from the beginning and I can say, it's a great initiative by Uzland. However, I would like to answer a few questions from some of us here. Before I do that, I would like to say that I have a job offer from an NHS Foundation Trust to work as a NEUROPHYSIOLOGIST, I'm currently awaiting CoS.

1. For anyone who desires to go the HAC visa route, like some people have rightly said, your journey should begin by getting a job. These can be found on the following sites:
uk.indeed.com (selects jobs with NHS tags cos they ALWAYS give CoS)
jobs.nhs.uk
put your preferred job role in the search box and knock yourself out with number of vacancies e.g Pharmacist, Physiologist, Psychologist, Radiographer, etc

2. To the person who studied ANATOMY, I can't categorically place you in a particular job role as I am not so familiar with where an Anatomist can work. However, I suggest searching for the keyword 'ANATOMY' and seeing what the search results bring forth. Also, you can check out the likes of 'Medical Rehabilitation' or 'Radiographer' to see if you fit in.

3. If you eventually find a job that fits you, ensure:
a. you have adequate knowledge and work experience in that field(YOU WILL BE RIGOROUSLY TESTED IN YOUR INTERVIEW!!!)
b. you read the Job Description and Person Specifications of that job. Try to find out how to apply for relevant professional registration for that job role (HCPC, AHCS, RCCP, GMC, NMC,etc). Just ensure that you're suitably qualified
c. APPLY! APPLY!! APPLY!!! for as many as possible until ONE clicks, cos that's all you need

4. You will receive a LOT of rejections. Don't let that dampen your spirit. A lot of times, its not because you are not qualified, it could be that there is someone equally or more qualified than you in the UK who they will rather give the job to than go through the stress of employing you from Nigeria.

5. As regards job agencies, I do not believe in nor endorse them but I won't castigate them either. What works for one may not work for the other. But when an agency is asking you to pay certain amounts of money to them, that's your cue to RUN!!!

I'll do my best to answer as many questions as time permits me.

Side Note: HAC visa has become relatively easy for Nurses (RN/RM and Bsc Nursing). I'll post the process to do this, as compiled by someone else, much later.

I remain your comrade in the JAPA struggle

Just received my COS.

Boss, it doesn't work that way ooo. An offer letter is the first step.

And not just an offer, but an offer from an employer that can sponsor.

Your in-law has no business with your CoS.

Do you know if the inlaw has a care home or a company that will issue the Cos. Until you know the full story , don't be sure of what you type.
