Offpoint1:

Divers done just dive into any water without proper preparation and surveys.
There are techs that detect sharks, these techs are deployed under water to scan the areas divers will be diving, from this they know the green and red zones.

If for any reason tech falls, sharks aren't aggressive creatures. As long as you're not bleeding or trying to attack them.
Wow! Thanks

I came into Lagos yesterday and I drove through Third Mainland Bridge today. The water looked so brownish which left me wondering, can divers enter this water? If they go under, can they see anything?
Sure diver’s can dive in, just that the person would have to prepare his will down that’s if he hasn’t done that before, and he go gat pay up any debt his owing cos it’s a Journey of no return. No two ways about it, ku is ku. grin grin grin

I remember when I visited the construction yard of Borini prono just under the bridge in 2019 when the rehabilitation work was about to start. The deputy project manager told me that they brought in divers from Italy to work on the bridge piles and pile caps deep in the water. So, yes, divers actually do go inside third mainland bridge water. At least, during maintenance.

Engineer Auditor! Welkom sha! More greachee to your Lbow. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

Sure, if properly trained & kitted. Proper suits, enough oxygen, band mask, compass, shark deterrent etc. Divers have gone into depths far deeper and darker than the ‘third mainland lagoon’. Have you not heard of deep diving? You nor dey watch Nat Geo ni? grin

As per the dark water, some of those band masks or goggles even makes dirty water clearer

Ofkos divers can enter the water. color has nothing to do with diving but it depend on the kind of activity they want to carry out. Eg laying of underground cable, rescue operation, checking of bridge pillars, pipeline.

I just spent a week training close to the lagoon area, and you're wrong.
It's a Lagoon.
There's an ocean area in Lagos but not the Third Mainland Bridge area.
I was at the Takwa Beach, and if you've been there, you'd know there's a huge difference. No be child's play.
The third mainland bridge water sweeps to the ocean.

And oh, the Lagos Lagoon (Apapa wharf side) is deep. I entered inside and mehn...!
But of course, it's probably deeper than the 3MB given I've never seen a ship around the 3mb area.

I stand to be corrected sha.
