GbemiBukk: Hello GbemiBukk, Wait for your application to be finalized, but there is no harm if you decide to notify IRCC. Reasons are: • The study permit process is not the same as the Express Entry where failure to notify IRCC of an addition of a new family member may have several consequences. • It may further prolong your application but you will receive a congratulatory message and you may be asked if you intend to travel with your child, especially if you declare this intent in your notification message. • You will be required to prove more POF and demonstrate how you intend to balance study and child care. Meaning you have to prove that you are a genuine student without immigration intent. • Your application may be sent into an active review to re-evaluate your new (application) situation to determine if you meet the eligibility requirements. If you have sent out enquiry webforms/emails, you should consider requesting your GCMS Notes. Link available on my profile signature. Best of Luck |

Stellagabu: Hello Stellagabu, Not a problem as long as you can furnish IRCC with adequate evidence to justify the lump sum. A letter from you and/or your sponsor to explain the purpose of funds, provenance, transfer information, etc. will help address the situation. Best of Luck |

Akannitommy:Thanks for the information, our plan is for her to arrive and Ontario get registered and sort out all her documentation with the school, at the commencement of classes she can then relocate to Saskatchewan. I await responses on the possible implications of a change of course before travelling and how it might affect her chances of getting the study permit at the border. |

Honestly I don't think this is a good idea... Personally I hate things that will make people doubt my honesty and delay me. Remember the have all your information. The immigration officer I meant was a black woman and she was very mean. But you can try as everyone is different. gregoma: 1 Like |

Andytheo: Very true, I got a date yesterday in Abuja after I tried booking online, their customer care not going, so I decided to go to IOM in Abuja. Many people got this week, some got a day after they were booked as long as you have a strong reason and proof that the medical is urgent. I even heard someone booked yesterday and did his medical yesterday too. It's better one goes to IOM directly if he/she wants a date quicker. As long as you come early. 1 Like |

Bimdaqueen: Hello Bimdaqueen, You should consider restructuring your résumé to suit linear economic and voluntary activities. Given you have a certificate in education and exposure in social studies, sign language, and teaching experience; PGD in Autism & Behavioural Science in a College or Master in Education – Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning in University will be a progressive approach to reconnect your career progression after a family break from active professional duties. Since it's a Sister/Mother sponsorship, ensure to include your spouse's employment or economic information even though you are not including his financial records. You should likewise include yours too. If you have been out of work for a while; use the pandemic, research, voluntary activities, or any part-time engaging activities related to your prospective study. Ensure to supply adequate evidence. This time, try as much as possible to avoid lump sum deposits and if not, give sufficient justification for it and its provenance. Pay your full year's tuition, open a GIC for your LE or have it secured in your bank account. Demonstrate with proof that your family's well-being is not threatened by your foreign study. Keynotes: • Avoid lump sums • Pay your full tuition • Include your bank record(s) • Demonstrate an alternative source of income (optional) • Close up any study gap(s) • Use the SOP to explain your study intent, prospects, the benefit of the study, etc. • Use the LOE to address the refusal ground(s) n.b. If you have no clue on how to go about writing a construct SOP/LOE or vetting your study plan, check my profile signature for information on how to seek adequate assistance. Best of Luck 5 Likes |

Eilenora: Hello Eilenora, Been a while. This is the recent norm IRCC has come with to tension applicants. I have indirectly witnessed up to 7 cases from people's submissions on my space on Quora. For some, it stayed up to 13 days before updating whilst some have exceeded a month. My advice was to request the GCMS notes to find out the entry status or comment on the biometrics update. There is a link to request it on my profile just in case it becomes necessary for you to do so. Despite the GcKey timeline not being updated by IRCC does not necessarily mean the biometrics has not to be acknowledged or received. A call through to IRCC will be faster to confirm or enquire on the status update of the biometrics. This is not an issue to be bothered about. Many applications got approvals even without the GcKey timeline changing. Stay safe and one love! 1 Like |

gregoma: Hello Gregoma, Big congratulations on your spouse's approval. If she changes to HRM from outside Canada, she may not be allowed to board and will be required to reapply. If she is moving between schools to a different province, she is also required to notify IRCC. Failure to do so may impact the outcome of the PGWP. On a norm, if your permit expires, you are to reapply but the process will not be as stringent as the previous. Reach out to IRCC via a webform and/or email to explain the situation and inform them of your academic calendar and the implication attached (not able to travel) due to the date appended to your passport. Request for an extension coupled with the updated LOA. This is not a professional advice but only a suggestion that could help your spouse's situation. Your reasons should be persuasive. GracefulG: Hello GracefulG, I can not paste the link due to the rules of the thread, but check my profile signature for the link to request the GCMS notes. The CBSA request option is swifter than the IRCC option. With CBSA, it could take up to 32 – 35 days but with IRCC, it could be more than 75 days. Best of Luck |
