Long Post Alert
First Time Applicant in fact I have never entered a plane before.
God is faithful and is always on time
God stood by me and didn’t put me to shame when I started this Canada journey I didn’t even know I could do it because somebody told me Canada is a no go area so channeled my energy towards the U.K immediately I got admission there I was ready to apply for a visa but my dad insisted that Canada is the goal, not the U.K. I reluctantly applied to just one university (University of Windsor) Master of Management(HRM) I applied in February and in between I got a job offer that was very suitable for my career but they decided to bond me for 2 years I was willing to let go of traveling out to take the job offer and my father insisted that Canada is the goal I was hurt because I have gone through all the processes for the job but I had to leave it because of that I found nairaland but I have already applied to the university then I saw something like career progression then I was scared because I have B.Sc. in Insurance and I applied for HRM all in all I was granted admission on May 30. I also learned about the NSE route and that I have to take IELTS that’s when wahala started oo because right from day one my uncles have always told me that the exam is very hard so I have made up my mind to avoid it but at this point, there’s no going back I practiced by myself and wrote it. Through this platform, I met Spectro baba (lol) the first time I messaged him I was able to pay my tuition fee through his guidance something I’ve been trying to do for a month. I applied on August 31st I went for upfront medical since July I was intentional about it. The wait after getting my correspondence letter was very tiring I sent a lot of emails, ordered my GCMS notes yet to receive it though, and raised webforms but I calm down a bit after the MP I contacted told me congratulations I still waited for a week before I got my approval. The wait humbled me because I don’t even know who to beg I remembered sending mail and I used their creator to beg them. All in all, God did it NLP also helped me to pray and I attended reboot camp. The way I will dance in church tomorrow ehn in fact they will need to hold me. GLORY!!!!!

My permit wasn’t stamped that I can work or some sort of sort and I got my sin with no issues at all.

Abi I got the wrong permit? Because everyone knows students are entitled to 20 hours per week

Seriously? I went to the two service canada offices in Victoria where I stay. They told me the same thing. Emailed and called they told me the same thing. Maybe B.C is different.

You can schedule your appointment without getting your BIL yet but ensure you get the BIL before the actual appointment cause you need it to get the biometrics done.

All the best

Thanks

If you know the exact time that is convenient for you to complete the biometrics at the VAC. You don't need to wait for the BIL to drop before you can book for an appointment. In most cases, BIL drops within 24hrs after an immigration application has been submitted.

As an international student, you can't run two different courses concurrently. You will have to complete the first program prior to enrolling for the second program so you can qualify for a three years PGWP.

Thanks for the response, actually the bolded is the plan, but
the bone of contention here is this, the second program in question is a 1 year program aswell at another DLI, and they also offer PGWP but it's a part time program.

Can one go for this particular 1-year program (that offers PGWP, one year, part time), after finishing the first full-time , 1year program?

Thanks

PPR ALERT!!!
They have said YES, not by process but by mercy for what God cannot do does not exist. This is a dream come through and I return all the glory to God for his mercies and favour.
My Timeline
1st Application:1st September 2020, withdrawn by my agent for inexplicable reasons till date. I never knew it was withdrawn until I got a request letter for IELTS bearing a different Application Number and then I asked why and was told they reapplied. Apparently they reapplied on the 29th of September and there I was waiting and calculating with 1st September 2020. Application refused on the 31st of May 2021 after 8 months of waiting. Refusal reason was purpose of visit, personal asset and financial status.
My GCMS notes revealed the visa officer made an error to assume I worked elsewhere when I clearly stated where I worked with ref letter from employer and office ID and complimentary card. So that was how purpose of visit came in cos they said my proposed study was diff from academic and work experience. For financial status I did not submit sponsor's salary account to ascertain the source of funds, I only used his savings account so they had concerns that there will be enough income to cover for my studies and also stated that I did not provide enough documentation for proof of funds.
2nd Application : 12th August 2021, done by myself and hubby, got someone who assisted with my LOE.
Upfront Medical passed on 16th August 2021
Eligibility Review : I don't know the exact date cos I don't log in often but I noticed it on 14th October when I logged in, till today its still in progress.
PPR came today 23rd November 2021.
What I did differently was to write a detailed LOE, addressing the VO's concern, stating where I worked and how my proposed course of study was very important for my career trajectory, I created a GIC account this time in addition to the fact that I had already paid a full year's school fees during my first application. I drew their attention to this fact again.
Basically I used same documents, got a more recent reference letter from employer, updated statement of account for myself and sponsor(hubby is my sponsor), this time around I added my salary account statement in addition to my savings account which I used initially and also sponsor's salary account, savings and dollar account as well.
I knew I had some errors and omissions which I noticed later but God perfected them all. Thanks to everyone that has kept this platform alive by sharing information and experiences here, they were helpful. I wish everyone on the waiting list success. It has ended in praise.

Good evening house. I've been a silent member of this group for a sometimes now. I'm a Nigerian but reside and work in the gambia. I teach in an international school. I've just secured an admission for a 2 year PGD in strategic global business management at conestoga college for spring 2022 . I'm preparing to apply for visa soon but I don't know whether my statement of account would be adequate to pull me through as I am going to sponsor my self. I got CAD24,000 in my personal account, please note that I have paid first semester tuition. I'm using my dad as support and he equally got about CAD 12,000 in his own account. Do you think those statements will be enough to take me through as per proof of fund sufficiency? Experts should please analyse and tell me If I have any chance. Patiently waiting for your responses.
Hello brother, greetings to you, please I'd like to know more about teaching job in Gambia, accommodation, living cost, salary range and general life there, thanks.

Please this is urgent.
For anyone who has applied to or currently attends the MBA program at Memorial university of Newfoundland. Can I apply for the MBA program with a 295 in the GRE or do I need to reseat the test? The required score is 302 but I only scored 295. The school says that they consider the application as a whole package but I don’t want to spend 60k+ on application fee if I won’t get the admission.
What do I do? Please help.

Hello guys,

Please what document do I need to show as proof that the company I am working for has sponsored other staff before? An agent suggested I need a document to present.

2nd question is, what and what do I need to show that my sponsor is willing to sponsor me or what does my sponsor need to do ?

Thanks JustMellow, your thoughts are really appreciated and will be considered in making our final decision....

Hello Gregoma,

Big congratulations on your spouse's approval. If she changes to HRM from outside Canada, she may not be allowed to board and will be required to reapply. If she is moving between schools to a different province, she is also required to notify IRCC. Failure to do so may impact the outcome of the PGWP.

On a norm, if your permit expires, you are to reapply but the process will not be as stringent as the previous. Reach out to IRCC via a webform and/or email to explain the situation and inform them of your academic calendar and the implication attached (not able to travel) due to the date appended to your passport. Request for an extension coupled with the updated LOA. This is not a professional advice but only a suggestion that could help your spouse's situation. Your reasons should be persuasive.

For those that have already gotten their TRV, what validity can one expect for a program of 2 years? Thanks.

GLORY!!!!!

I wish I can really explain this feeling but I believe say who don experience am go understand... Lord your baby girl is super grateful.
The Canada journey started 2017 .. got admission to University of Regina but Dad said the money was much I abandoned it... I had to try Thompson rivers university got admission was asked to pay a certain amount with a deadline couldn't meet up had to defer... they gave me another deadline after which if I don't meet up the admission will be cancelled.... and Yes I didn't meet up again, I had to leave the whole matter, may be God no want make i travel.
Fast forward to 2021 I just chip the matter for my papa ear and to my greatest surprise he just told me to try it again but I was just having double mind if I should do it or not... I had to speak with some frds that gave me the morale to push it and today I have my Goodnews.
When I saw two messages from IRCC omo fear catch me..I rushed to the portal immediately to check, portal no con gree open I just leave am dey thank God though I had fear in me, after about one hour 30 mins, I checked again while slowly scrolling up with one eye open moving straight to final decision... immediately I saw your application was approved I just started crying, ran straight to my mum and told her the women wan shout ohhh... I just hold her mouth say make she no shout . God of NSPPD, you have shown me Mercy, I am super grateful.
Below is screenshot of the table of content on the documents I submitted..
Imm forms
Passport etc

Going for MBA University Canada West, sponsor had 9m naira so I was scared this people might want to attack me for finance but God is faithful. An imperfect application but God made it perfect.

Congratulations on your visa. I just received my offer letter from Canada West for MBA as well, pls I will be very grateful if I can get some info’s from you.

Please I am not sure I understand this. Please where exactly or with what app am I supposed to scan the QR code on the card to confirm the records they have.

Oviebright:
Please anyone going to Canada should be get their covid 19 vaccine card and scan the barcode attached to it via qr scanner to indicate you have been vaccinated at least twice. And also have your covid 19 test result 72 hours to ur departure in Nigeria. To avoid stories that touch oh. Very important.

It's the end date on your LOA plus additional 90days. That's 2yrs + 90days. For instance my program is ending 30/09/2023 (as per LOA) but my TRV is valid to 30/12/2023.

He’s right, it actually happened and it was reported her back then.

I don't think you are correct. I got to Regina saskatchewan from Nigeria and I wasn't asked about anything.
