It's very clear that some people here watch a football match through livescores.com and other football apps. Otherwise, you can't watch tonight's match and conclude that Messi flopped. Apart from the goal(which even Messi assisted), Mbappe was not close to Messi in performance today. I don't know where the idea that "Mbappe is the only good player at PSG...others are mere escorts" comes from.

I understand that the standards Messi has set for himself is subliminal. But I don't expect to see him frequently tearing down Man City's final third with dribbles throughout the match. That's very silly expectation. No team would find it easy against this ball-hugging Man City. Name that top team: Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. I deliberately did not mention Manchester United, as they are not an elite club atm in my opinion. They can enjoy their small wins anyway.

Back to today's match. PSG's strategy was mainly based on counter-attack, which I think is the answer to City's ball-hugging football. The few times Messi had the ball, he was brilliant with it. He even tracked back at times in order to help regain possession (though I expect more from him in this aspect).

If there was someone to blame for PSG's loss, it should be Neymar. His profligacy and unnecessary flair with the ball is quite disturbing.

Barca that was languishing outside top four until Messi started turning up big back to back. Finishing in 3rd was even a miracle because Barca had become a Deadwood. Messi was the only attacking option driving the team. I feel if Ansu fati was fit, it could have been better. Messi had to single-handedly shouldered the responsibility in all competition.
