Good morning house,
I’m new here and please I have some questions.
I’m a 27 years old male who has never been to a higher institution. I have my interest in any degree relating to computer or IT. I have searched for schools that are affordable and it’s not been really easy. I have decided to apply for College of the North Atlantic, 2 years diploma in computer systems & networking. My question are
Please how good is the school?
What’s their admission rate like?
Can I obtain a study permit with ease using their offer letter??
Lastly can anyone recommend affordable computer degree programs ?

The benefit of a positive response towards this cannot be overemphasized. Please please please.

Thanks so much.

Hello Kessy,

I would recommend Advanced Diploma instead of just ordinary Diploma. As for PPR, is all about how beautifully convincing your application is that is backed up with grace of God.

Nothing is impossible with God. Even people with Bsc that went for ordinary diploma got PPR.

good day Lianna. sorry I think u made a typo error cos I cant really understand. U mean they deported the person just because her port of entry was far from her school ?. wow.the reason I chose to enter through Toronto is is because u said u got ur study permit in Toronto ooo.though u said u had a connecting flight.I already booked a flight from Toronto to Vancouver but that would be a week after I arrive in Toronto as I want to spend new year with my brother .Hope it wont b a problem cos Vancouver is soo far from Toronto

So I got study permit and travelled on the 14th. Arrived Canada 15th and went for immigration to get study permit. Intention was to travel chill in Ontario for 3 weeks and return to Naija before travelling to Vancouver in January. Na so the border officer lady after checking my online portal and other documents now asked for my connecting flight to Vancouver - which I didn't have - and I explained that I had things I needed to drop for my cousin in Ontario and will proceed to Vancouver afterwards. The woman just look me say I no want go school ba. So she said she is giving me a 3 months study permit with a clause that I am not permitted to work off campus. She said that when I get to Vancouver and settle there, I can apply for an extension. So that was my experience some persons are angry the lady did that and others said I was lucky, I could have been sent back to naija. I still dey Ontario. Gotten what I came for SIN and study permit. Will deal with the extension when I get to Vancouver.

NadeeFM:
Thank you everyone for the good wishes and prayers. I am very grateful.

This is the full detail of my application. It may be useful for someone here...

FAMILY APPLICATION- Study permit for myself and two children and Visit visa for Spouse

Timeline:
Application Submitted: 22nd July, 2021
Biometrics: 27th July, 2021
Upfront medical (family): 30th July, 2021
Medicals updated to passed: 5th August, 2021
Eligibility started almost immediately for me.
Eligibility for spouse and children: 19th October, 2021 (that was when I saw the ghost update)
Saw two other ghost updates on the 12th and 23rd of November
BVL & PPR: 25th November, 2021

What I did:
I prayed, I fasted and I trusted God to come through for us ….. and He did. When God says ‘Yes’, nobody can say ‘No’. I believe that very strongly.

Following @Makano’s advice read here, I started sending emails and webforms on the 21st of October (to all the IRCC offices I could lay my hands on their emails but later limited it to Nairobi, London and Lagos offices). I sent mails and webforms weekly oh…..there was a time I was sending daily. I’m sure they were tired of me but I didn’t care. I still sent the day before PPR came!

Finally, I read and read through this thread. My people, I got almost all the information I needed here. That is why I’m saying a big THANK YOU and GOD BLESS YOU to everyone that contributes on this platform.

if one renews his passport before travelling, I hope the person won't have issues at the point of entry? Also, will the immigration officers at the POE stamp the old passport that carries the visa or the new one?

Can one renew the passport that has a student visa even if it's not up to 6months to the expiring date? The reason is that the passport will expire March 2023 and I don't think I would have time renewing my passport in Canada and reapplying for the visa inside Canada.
if you renew your passport they usually stamp the old one with 'cancelled without prejudice' and I don't know how this will affect any visas in your passport

Hello,

Congrats for the grace of getting that 3-months study permit. I reported a few days ago of an experience many years ago of two students sent back to Nigeria because of a similar situation. The fact some people get away with it doesn't mean it is okay to do. I saw your message that you will wait in Ontario until January to get to Vancouver before you apply for extension, right? I think that may be risky too. Don't push your luck, you already scaled through a hurdle. Except of course your intention is not to go to school in Vancouver/Canada, I think you may currently be threading a thin line here. Consider some or all of the following potential issues;

Your school will require that you submit a valid study permit for the entire duration of your program, right? A 3-months study permit issued on 15th November will have barely 30 - 45 days left by time school resume in January. Won't this raise questions when you do in January?

I am unsure you can apply for extension in Ontario without arriving/enrolling in your school and maybe get a Vancouver address. In my own Quebec school for instance, you need a local address to receive your awards cheque - in the mail - for students on school funding.

Extension itself can take between one and three months to process. Here is the result of a quick search on IRCC website just now for this type of application. "We’re currently finalizing most applications we received between August 22 and 28, 2021. If your application is complex, it may take us longer to process it." You will likely need to do an LOE to address why you are applying for extension this early (without an expired passport).

Finally, if you are planning to apply for extension from Ontario ahead of landing in Vancouver using a local address, be careful!

NB: these my rantings are simply speculations based on a "keep it safe mentality" of mine and so they may all turn out to be unfounded.

It shall end in praises as usual.

Please when is the best time to start applying for September Fall 2022 intake Visa?
And about this lump sum deposit ,i don’t really understand it, is it for only account that doesn’t take doesn’t regularly take as much as the last deposit that happened in the account?
My sponsor My dad is account is very familiar with lump sum deposit like today now he can get 17 million 25m….. huge transactions he’s into steel iron rods.My problem is that sometimes he can have just 4,000 naira 50,000 naira left in his account after making some purchases. And his inflow and outflow is very fast.
Now i’m about to apply for a visa and he doesn’t have the amount i want to show now 18million but he got a job of 18m+ which i’m going to apply when he gets the money, my concern is that will the vo also think the money will leave like how the others leave?

just some of you won’t understand what i’m saying

Please go ahead and use only your own account.

Seeing the bolded will force the VO to deny you based on finance while neglecting you have 32kcad. To him, the 32kcad wont be available upon coming to canada which is why you included your brother's account.

Also seeing the Joint account is a red flag cos the VO will wonder how your brother will cater for his own family knowing fully well the expenses your canadian study dream will cost.
