Let's deduce the meanings using Akahan...
The name is made up of two terms viz ọnụ and ọha/ọra... And writing it in Akahan we've
Ọnụ: 口
Ọha/Ọra: 公
Giving us 口公, which is the Akahan form.
So if both Ọnụọha and Ọnụọra have the same writing in Akahan, it simply means that they're the same thing. QED kiss

They are the same. Just difference in pronunciation. Like okolie and okorie. They both mean "Orie" market day.

The Igbos have only Eze, there's nothing like Ezeh,

Igbos have Chidimma, nothing like Chidinma.

Please look for "Mbido Igbo" book 3, 4 & 5 for more details.

As for Onuora and Onuha; they're both the same just like Ahamefuna and Afamefuna, Ifeoma and Iheoma, Orie and Oye, Onyebuchi and Onyewuchi, Ahia and Afia and so on

yorubakid:
No difference same meaning..just that different igboland pronounce and spell it differently.
Onuora or onuoha simply means he who speaks for the whole community

We have Ezeh and Eze
Chidimma and chidinma.there many names like that in igboland

What is the Difference between Onuora and Onuoha? Are they the same?

Is it Theresa Onuoha or Theresa Onuora.

People are contending against and for the name on Facebook.

Yes there is a difference. Onuoha is the universal or generally accepted way of writing and pronouncing the name itself, it is called 'Igboizugbe'.

While Onuora stems from how individuals, towns or places in igboland pronounce and write it in their own Igbo dialects.

example: Efele (plate) - Igboizugbe
Afele (plate) - local igbo dialects.or onu ndi-be-ndi.

They both mean the same thing. The spelling difference is a matter of dialect.
Onuoha or Onuora means Voice of the People.

Will you shattap there. There is nothing like "universal" when writing someone's name.
Both are correct. They will just set music and you people will start jumping up and down.
Can you exert this same energy if it was 1.Muhammad and Mohammed?
2.Abraham and Avraham?
3. JESUS and YESHUA?

The way these scavengers toil with you people show the lack of knowledge in Igbo culture that exists among majority of Ndigbo.

If you are reading this, know that Onuora and Onuoha are the same thing. The difference in spelling is simply based on dialect and in names the way the person spells his is accepted.
Nothing like General form in name.

Why won't it be argued. There is a clear distinction between those names which shows a clear gap between the people culturally and otherwise.
The same the difference in Mohammed and Muhammad shows clear cultural and religious gap between your fellow Muslims right?

Incase you don't know, Igbo is a religion to me as it is to others here, so any term you use for it will be replicated with your own Islamic terminology for you to understand better.

If Mohammed and Muhammad means different thing according to you, I wonder what Buhari's Muhammadu will mean.

Just like pronouncing Stephen and Steven.
Just use Mohammed and Muhammad to illustrate it so that the OP, Juliusmalema aka MelesZenawi and the other Muslim colleagues that want to balkanize Igboland into states and Clans will understand better.

Try to understand the argument first. "Ezeh" doesn't exist in Igbo language writing, but "Eze" does. Your friend's family name is Eze and not Ezeh. The "h" prefix at the end is by individual creation which dates back to more than 25yrs that you have known your friend.

Does not qualify Ezeh as a lexicon in Igbo language. Nsukka does not mandate what becomes acceptable in Igbo vernacular.

Stephen is a total misnomer.

Steven is the right word

Wow! Nairaland.

The name is originally an English name which originated from the Latin word Stephanus (meaning 'crown' or 'wealth'). “Steven” is just an American variant of the more traditional English spelling “Stephen.” Both are pronounced exactly the same way. And both are valid.

What a fallacy? Nonsense.

Generally accepted way of doing what? When and how did such happen that we didn't know?

Who endorsed the generally accepted ills in the society?

Igbo Izugbe or whatever it is called is a cankerworm that must be phased out with time...

It is a total deviation to standard. The generally accepted standard is Olundi...case closed.

While Onuora stems from how individuals, towns or places in igboland pronounce and write it in their own Igbo dialects.

example: Efele (plate) - Igboizugbe
Afele (plate) - local igbo dialects.or onu ndi-be-ndi.

Onuora remains the right word. Others are gibberish.

Why did iheanacho put dot in his name

It’s to give it a meaning
