Thanks.
Any good reason for this advice?

Nope it's not. Really not worth it. Ensure you have secured the admission first.

A fellow Nigerian who is currently studying there let me understand that it's risky to book an appointment before getting admission. What if you get the appointment before the admission? The embassy won't listen to the excuse you have to offer. And what if you don't get it at all? If you keep on booking and cancelling, it could cause traffic, plus you could make the embassy perceive unseriousness on your part. That's just my two cents, the choice is still up to you.

When did this friend of yours move to Germany? And are they aware of the recent happenings as regards AD for Nigerian cat B applicants?

I would suggest you read the last 50 pages of this thread (if you can) to get an idea of what's going. It will help put things in perspective

Good day guys,
I am new here and have some questions;

- how long does it take for the embassy to process visa after interview?
- is it right to make enquiry in regards to the progress of the visa process,? cause it more than 5weeks now

Not so sure, but the person was there just before the lockdown, so could have been early 2020. Yes, the person knows about the Category B situation. But my advice still remains the same. Still, the choice is yours.

After interview, it shouldn't take long, I think about a month or at most, *2 months*. Exercise patience, and pray you get positive feedback.

About enquiries, you can try, though I'm not sure if you're allowed to.

Final question on this mini-segment to confirm my hunch, @Walter002 and @MartOkoh, when did you both book your appointments and when did you get dates?

When you both see this, please reply. Thanks.

Achso, gut...
According to the three people I've asked here and from the answers given, I'm typing this. Alongside some other information as well.

I figured that this new rule of Category B could have started quite recently, because I'm sort of sure that I saw that rule while checking the requirements on the website in late 2020(could be wrong about when it started, but I'm just saying that's when I saw it first.)

As you know, the world is still trying to accommodate normal life alongside the COVID-19 situation, so immigration could still be tight in some areas.

Now, I feel the reason the Consulate/Embassy is making things quite uneasy for Nigerians is this: in the past, some Nigerians have gone through this process like us, they've gotten to Germany and then they've done a lot of substandard things and then gotten deported. Some have gone the wrong road and entered illegally, caught and also deported. Obviously, the normal response would be to halt or at least, neck up the process, making it quite difficult for others, all in an effort to curb such situations, which isn't surprising because Nigerians like to cause trouble. Germany isn't the only country that has done this. Poland, France, even the UK and US have started stressing the process for Nigerians because we seem to have made things worse.

However, from these three people who have recently gotten good progress, I am optimistic that the embassy is still giving feedback. The waiting time may still be quite tedious, but there's still hope. At the moment, Germany and the EU as a whole are facing some major immigration issues and I feel that could also be another reason for the delay. However, it would appear that Olaf Scholz may bring in a new law favouring immigration, so let's pray and be hopeful.

I, myself have been waiting for some time now, but I haven't given up. I advise you try doing something else that keeps you less bothered. Here's one thing I do a lot: I open Google Maps, search the university i want to go, or at least, the airport and do a virtual tour. That really brings my faith to a good level. One of my favourite bible verses is Jeremiah 29:11. You can make it yours too. Gather your faith and expectations, take it to God and watch what He will do.

Also, bitte, mach euch keine Sorgen. Alles wird gut.
Gott wird uns helfen, Amen.

(See the image I posted, from the three people in this group, God did it for them, He will do for us)

I don't know why Nigerians keep messing up in another's man land.
Yes, it's true Poland is really tough to enter.

For those asking for what could lead to rejection of visa

https://edubao.org/blog/most-common-reasons-for-rejection-of-german-student-visa/

Before you say you were not told, know that if you are going to study in German, your interview may likely be conducted in German. So practice as much as you can, to avoid wahala

I don't know where you got this information from but you not correct. Students are different from Asylum seekers. In 3 years of being here I have not heard any such news about students being deported, rather we are doing even more than most people thought we would.

On the other hand Nigerian students (that studied the right course) are already climbing up the coperate ladder.

Our major problem is our population and how bad the economy has become. These countries know that we all want to Japa so they are trying to reduce the inflow and select a few, category A folks don't have to wait that long you know? India faced the same issue few years ago, so it's not just Nigeria.

Nb: if your mind is still with Germany your second name needs to be patience and while you wait learn either of these two things the language or an IT skill.

I wanted to say same
Nigerians studying in Germany are studying well even as they are working because that's their means of stay. I have never heard of any deportation from any Nigeria students. I know people are frustrated but please stop making negative assumptions. In as much as we like painting our country bad but we should make sure it's a fact before dishing out. Nigerians studying abroad are doing very well not only in Germany but also other places. The only reason why some don't graduate the year they are supposed to is because they have to work but even at that, students have privilege of studying for years for BA or MA. They made the law. It's only wen one don't graduate after exceeding the five years it will become a problem of which I have never heard of any student exceeding that. Thank you. Please let's be positive
