You get time Dey answer all those people. When one of them can step up to me and tell me why some don’t get visa, Abi them no pray and fast too ni. See in Africa Ehn, when you realize God no get hand for some things, that continent go be better place. God has given you the brain to go and prepare for your interview, any other thing is now between you and your fellow human standing behind a glass, who chooses to either accept you to enter their country or not and thousands of others. Run your ration they accept 100 a day and deny 500. Those 500 no pray go there?? What you believe is yours, I won’t even be debating that with anyone, but when you leave the shores of Nigeria, you’d understand that this same God that you worship is also the same that this white people also worship, but look your own country and see theirs “they are dealing with their own battles o”, do you see the difference, everything is almost perfect for them but our dear Nigeria is a damn shit hole. That brings me to those that’ll say God will heal our land and all those bullshit “Ori yin ti daru” God yii na ni. No go do your county well dey pray make God come do miracle o, Even God sef Dey laugh all of una. If it’s so sure for you, come out and tell me you didn’t prepare for your interview or you didn’t even read through someone’s transcript. To you wey Dey come yankee, Put God on one hand and your human mission on the other. Them no carry God for head here like where u Dey come from. I was once like many people but then when I got here, I began to question many things. I’m a Christian and I do believe there is God, Jesus, Holy Spirit and the Devil. I’d say this “Because you got your visa is why you came here to write you thank God and all, I’m sure if they denied whoever, nobody would write “I give God the glory for being denied in their transcript o” I know what would be running in their minds but “That one na story for another day”…..
Predstan:

Miracle worker for liars and dubious people too? Whatever you prepare for is not Miracle. In Africa we attribute miracle to what we don’t deserve….

Fighting for God is useless too. Whatever you have or you ever own, people who don’t know God have multiple of that without attributing it to God….

So you pray, you don’t pray, you can get Visa without God’s element. The only surest and the primary element is good preparation. Every other thing comes next. If you pray and fast for 10years, without attending interview, you won’t get visa. Even your pastors prepare all night to attend interviews. Some of them are still denied.

Hello, this case is similar to mine.

I am on an F1 visa doing a phD in the US and my husband applied for F2 but was denied on the 24th of November,2021.

Reason they gave is 214b and the only question asked is how he intends to make money to support me if he is gone from his business for 3months(he indicated on the DS160 that he is returning March 2022)

We have tried to correct that on the form to reflect his duration to tally with my duration of study since it is F2 but we also indicated in the reason for denial in the new DS160 that he would be returning at intervals to oversee his business while his team members run it while he is away.

He is into tech startups and has a side job.
He is resigning this December to focus on his business though.

We also indicated all the businesses he runs in the new DS-160 and also that I have a fully funded assistantship which covers my tuition, health insurance and monthly stipend so he wouldn't need to support me.

This is because he said the VO also mentioned that he is sponsoring me because he provided the deficit which shows on the I-20.

He only provided a small deficit of 3k dollars about 1.5million and my friend who is a US Permanent resident was a guarantor for the amount required for F2.

He has been to the US twice of B1/B2 and spent a week and a month respectively on both trip and returned home.

I really need help as we are already applying again and I want him to join me this Christmas. I left August 2021 and during my interview when asked if he would be coming,I said that our plan is that he visits and I also visit during Summer breaks.

Was this wrong?

Our marriage is just 2years 8months and we have no child yet.

How else does he show home ties(we mentioned businesses and included his full time job on the form too)

Is it really a red flag since his name is on the I-20 as a sponsor even though it's a small deficit and I am fully funded.
How do we correct this? Do I tell my school to remove his name on the I-20?

I'm sorry for the long post, just trying to get a date asap for December.
I have gotten a lease approved for our apartment here and I can't cancel it.

For those intending to travel in December or January for the Spring session, are you guys following up about the new Covid 19 variant?

Hopefully it doesn’t get bad to the point that the US will ban flight from Nigeria as they have done to South Africa

Hello gurus

Reading through various transcripts here, I have noticed every says they applied to 2/3 schools. Does that mean that applying to one school alone reduce your chances?

No, it doesn’t reduce your chances in any way. I’m a living case study to that and I’m sure there are thousands who were in the same boat. Not preparing enough for the interview and not having required documents reduces your chances, in my opinion.

I graduated May 2019 and started my official job Dec 2019 but I did some volunteer jobs during my undergraduate days (fitness instructor and soccer coach), I included those in my work history on ds160.

Would you advice me to remove them and stay with the postgraduate job alone?

Even tou I had them(two volunteered job) on my ds160 for my first attempt for visa interview

I thought you have gone for interview already and have gotten your visa. I think you should leave them.

The person I’m helping out initially applied for EA before sending email for the surge dates in Lagos. The surge date was approved yesterday and she’s scheduled to appear 1st of December. But today she got an email saying her Emergency appointment has been denied though she uploaded all required documentations.
Personally, I am guessing there might be a conflict between EA application and sending email for surge date. Or maybe it’s a systems glitch from the embassy.

My question: have u applied to both surge date and EA.

Please bro, Can you send me an email on tinazy2003@gmail.com. I want you to help me proofread my reason for denial.

This is entirely my opinion though:

Your DS 160 form probably gets a rating after your submission. So technically, a VO already sees the rating the moment you hand your documents to him/her. It makes it easy for them hence the reason why they ask fewer questions during interview.

What i think can give you good ratings are:

Travel History,
Strong home ties (No immediate family in the US),
The University being the sponsor,
'No' on all the last questions on the form.
And more.

While i understand many might fall short of the above features, it is not uncommon that people get approved with personal funding, no travel history and perhaps, with immediate family in the US. During the interview, you should confidently express yourself and prove to the VO why the degree is pertinent to the development of you and your country. Also, find a way to convince the VO you will be returning home almost immediately after your program.

Mustn't go without saying that students should do better when asked about their sponsors. 'my uncle is into real estate and fabrics'... Naa you dont want to say that. VOs have heard so many things like that and they know when students are being evasive. Speak confidently, explain how your sponsor makes his or her money, tell the VO how the market he/she is into is burgeoning and bringing more than enough money. Explain further in details what fraction of your COA is to the total amount in bank.

Lastly fill your form diligently as though you are answering a VO right infront of you.
