No Sir.
It all depends on the school and program. Schools like UNSW, University of Melbourne, Monash University, RMIT, and many others, you can apply without agent via the school portal, and you can also apply for visa.
I think one of the factors boosting the image of Agents with respect to Australia is the limited info about Australian processes when compared to Us, UK or Canada. Also, many schools used to rely on agents because they aren't really familiar with our system. However they now have international offices, and we can apply ourselves.
Oviebright:

So does that mean one cannot secure admission without agents?
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Vincentosa: 10:45pm On Nov 26, 2021
Very correct. In addition, most Australian Universities will make it somewhat compulsory to get an agent to help them do all the document checks such as academic documents, etc. I have never consulted with an agent since applying to UTS, UNSW, and even now UTAS. It is the school most times that will make it mandatory that at a certain point in the process, one must transfer to an agent.
You don't even need an agent to apply for your visa. There is nothing hard in it. They are only interested in the processing fee u pay to them. Some of these guys charge you as much as 250k. Visa fees inclusive.
In the end, the school will still pay them for recruiting you to them. I have used two Agents before resident in Australia. I can tell you no kobo was asked from me. But our own here is to bill you just to verify your documents. Not that they will help you with proof of fund oh.
Very greedy set of agents we have in Nigeria.

Very correct Sir. So far, the only issue with Australia Visa is the time they make you to wait due to processing. Every other thing is in accordance with their online guidelines which is simple and straight forward

Book immidiately and follow any available flight that is going DownUnder Ooo.

Another lockdown is coming.
They are either creating monsters or using people as guinea pigs

This actually got me thinking.

You are right but aren't prepared for the travel in a very short notice. Our plan has been middle of January next year.

I'm total confused right now. I don't want her to be caught in another web of lockdown either in Nigeria or Australia banning Nigeria migrants.

What do we do now?

My agent just advised me to book and travel as soon as possible but I’m in your shoes as well, I am not prepared to travel at all.
Anyways I’m personally looking towards Christmas weekend at this point.

Neccessity is the mother of invention.
As U.S is announcing the ban of Southern African Countries, we do not expect others to do the same, rather thay will put locking them out into action.

We have no other option than to flow with the current or prepare going against the grain.

Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Ekarl: 3:18pm On Nov 27, 2021
I feel taking a deep breath and proper planning is the best possible solution at this point, one can not just act because of fear and then rush into something much more worst than the expected.
What if you get in and get locked down? No work? Paying bills with no source of income? I personally do not feel they will open their boarder after almost 2years of being locked and then shut it back immediately

Another angle is for those of us who deferred till next year, one clause in the visa states that you can not work until you start schooling, how then do you enter a country 2-3 months to your resumption, rent an apartment you pay weekly with NO WORK? (someone already in should please enlighten me on this, would really appreciate it)

Next is the exuberant cost of flight booked within a short time, that is obviously going to cost a fortune
How many of us can afford that?

In my own humble opinion, if you can afford the cost well, it’s worth the risk, if the burden is too much please don’t put yourself in a worst off position.
Good luck to everyone

P.S Please anyone based in Brisbane should please please and please again indicate so I can reach out, I need help and clarification, thank you.
Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Softkey(m): 3:02pm On Nov 28, 2021
My sincere advice is to book and jump on the next available flight as anything can happen at any time. The way Australia government make decisions is scary, you can wake up to any news.

Read the below news. 2 international arrivals tested positive of the new South African variant Covid already.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/nov/28/covid-update-nsw-chief-health-officer-says-omicron-may-already-be-here

About your fear of not getting a job because of lockdown, I’m not talking for all areas though but in Sydney, yes there are jobs during the lockdown. In fact, some got double because most of the Aussies decided to stay home during the lockdown while the hustlers were jacking and making their money.

I’ll say again, the flight ticket is relatively cheap now, and without quarantine.

I booked my wife ticket (Qatar Airways) in August at AUD17,894 with AUD3,000 quarantine fee. I have friends that were ready to book more than that if they could get exemption for their families as well. But here we are now. No need for exemption anymore.

Just my 10 cent though.

What do you think about Ethiopian or Turkish Airlines?

I am planning booking anyone if them as they appear cheaper than others.

Please I need your response as soon as possible.

You can check any of the airlines and book directly. Don’t book any Arline passing through South Africa o.

I’ll advise you book Qatar Airways though. It’s fast and less stress.

Read News and update yourself about the happenings around the world.

Citizens and Permanent residents have been entering for months now.

The December 1 is just the date to free some temporary visa holders to enter.

Are you forced to take the vaccine? No
Is it compulsory you leave Nigeria? No

We’re only here to update people with open minds who might find some information useful.

Weather it adds up or not is left to you to decide.
