Dear Users, between MUST, iPower, SMK which one of these inverter make is better in terms of ruggedness, flexible user settings etc?

I just got an IPOWER 5kva hybrid, it's cheap compact and runs smooth. That thing na machine I swear in terms of how you can program charging source, supply, parameters you can view and control. It's too early however to know about ruggedness.

Baby sitting.......I guess you're referring to water topping and equalisation. This shouldn't be a big deal.

Any reason why? I have a 120A Felicity CC and I love it.

Felicity works fine but when it comes to price(powmr wins), performance(same but I tend to think powmr is more rugged) and features I will do powmr.

If you find epever go for that instead. I will pick a powermr cc over a Felicity CC both for price and performance
Why the hate?

What extra features does powmr have over felicity. I'm interested. The only downside since I use felicity is it takes time switching back to bulk from float {literally 0 watts reading for about 7 secs} which sometimes causes my low voltage disconnect to kick in. Also the charging parameters takes time to get it right because of the constant time setting for absorption which can over charge or under charge your batteries

I am on a low budget and want to buy this inverter battery Famicare 12v 100ah and I need someone to help me review whether it will serve my purpose for the following load : 3 ceiling fan , 2 25w low energy bulb and a 50 inches led TV .
How many hours am I expected to get from a full charge. Is the claim for 100ah is really true cos some manufacturer do lie.thanks

Would really like more inputs thanks in advance.

Do you think an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) can come in handy into this your application? Check out the functions of the device on AliExpress and see if it could work. They are kinda expensive though.

Worst case scenario, an inexpensive Manual Transfer Switch.

am afraid, it will not. u need atleast 1 or 2pcs of real 200ah batteries to get decent backup on those load u listed.

You will notice i didn't add anything to features what I meant is that Felicity provides no better feature over powmr. However if ruggedness is a feature I think powmr may be more rugged that Felicity.....a friend that I got powmr for in the past has made a few connection blunders that threw up fireworks yet the CC is still operational till date. I doubt the Felicity will withstand that...but ofcourse I should note that I have not used the Felicity CC but the hybrid

Exactly, the felicity cc is just basic..was sorely disappointed when i handled it......lacks common harvest data logging at the price of 2 units powmr.

Epsolar is beta, though more expensive

Not loud at all, at least compared to my Thundervolt inverter, which I don't consider too anyway. Though It's good to know that my inverter is outside, maybe it might be perceived louder if installed indoors.
Also the fan comes on intermittently and at different speeds too.

Your 250w will drag 350w to behave like 250w panel. If you must use 350w, put it on another CC.
No good CC comes cheap, kindly note this.

On your proposed installation for your parents, if you want to use tubular, which I personally won't use. Are you very close to them? Those wet cells need baby sitting o!

thanks for this insight @Oshomo12 Noted on the different wattage for the panels.
We stay very far away sir! On baby sitting the tubular batteries, it would be helpful to have an idea on how often the water need to be topped? monthly? quaterly?
Thanks.

Hi House,

Good evening to you all. i am a bit of a novice but very much interested in solar energy.

Please i need recommendation on good low maintenance battery brand that one can buy for aged parents. i am looking at buying Quanta, that is what i use personally and it has served me for more than two years and still counting, though DoD isnt more than 50% most of the time except in extreme conditions. the electrolyte ones we got them did not last more than one year,

Apart from quality, i am also looking for something that can last for at least five years. Heard those that use distilled water lasts longer, is this true?. if this is the case, how often does the water need to be topped up?

in order to upgrade the system, is it possible to add panels say two 350 watt panel to an existing 250 watts panel array without it affecting the setup (All 24 volts)?

Also i may need to buy a CC for the setup because the inverter has an inbuilt CC which by adding more panels, will exceed its capacity. Kindly recommend a good and not too expensive CC to use for this.

Thank you in advance for your response and also recommendation on who can supply these without hitches. God bless you all.

Tubular batteries are okay, the topping of distilled water water depends on your heavy usage discharge and charging cycle. If there is no heavy discharge the water can last you for 3 to 4 months before you top it. Tubular is just like any battery system whether gel , lithium or sealed you must monitor and check regularly. so when people say babysitting tubular I laugh, all system must be monitored. Any adding distilled water to tubular is very simple.

Alright. I actually went for Felicity at the time because I wanted the 120A. No other CC in town does that for the price.

I'm looking for a 1kva/1.5kva inverter that has good charging profile (preferably with onboard MPPT controller) for lifepo4 batteries. Abeg make una mention any product make wey fit do. This is needed on the interim pending when the ones bought overseas gets to Naija. Thanks y'all

I don't understand the lack of harvest data. The thing shocked me, it was the first CC that I have that couldn't tell you how much energy you have harvested. It would have been a deal breaker for me but I'm able to get harvest data through other means.

I concur.

Felicity will have made itself a darling if they add more to their UI especially on their CCs and Lithium batteries. The price tags seems to be too high for the bland user interfaces on their CCs and more especially their LFPs.

And oh, they should also refrain from falsely inflating the rating on their products too. That is another seriously annoying bad habit from Felicity. I'm even somehow thinking that the rating on their inverters are falsely high since that trend has already been established for their lithium batteries and somehow with their CCs - referring to the tirade between Wilmaria and a client few posts back. Although the CCs rating query is still not established yet.
