Ekealterego:The same Horton that told you Nembe was Igbo. This Ekealterego doesn't have sense. The igbos have been the darling of the British media ever since the palm oil trade. Have you seen how these stupid reports are misleading? 9pluto ?? crowther and pepple clearly explained the difference in the dialect Okolo-ama, which is the chief spoken language in Bonny; same language is spoken in Calabari, AND IT IS STILL SPOKEN TILL TODAY. Now I ask y'all clowns, if that okoloama language is Igbo, why did crowther and pepple said otherwise? Let us assume they were drunk and made a mistake, can we boldly say the language spoken in Calabari is Igbo too?? 2 Likes

Ekealterego: Wow! This is almost 40years after Crow's death and during the reign of King Jaja of Bonny. It certainly confirms Crow's finding.Your post sums up the identity of Bonny/Ubani/Ibani people. It is interesting that most counter arguments have mostly been and admixture of threats, rants and insults typical of someone struggling to hide facts. 14 Likes 1 Share |

Alabo7978: Why are you finding it difficult to also confirm that the ruling house was also Igbo? So while the kings of Ubani were Igbo speakers, while the slave merchants there were also Igbo speakers, and while the slaves were also Igbo speakers, you are hellbent on trying to confuse people into thinking that it was only the slave class that were Igbos. How come those that attacked Diette-Spiff were speaking a Brass language, that could be understood 100% by every Igbo speaker? How come a more ancient memoir written by Crow, that was decades earlier than the one written by Crowther, not critical enough for you? Ubani and Kalabari traditional institutions are led by Igbo lineages. This cannot happen unless you are trying to say that the Igbos invaded those areas, and established Igbo kingdoms over the non-Igbo natives. We all know this didn't happen. You still have to scale the hurdle of Igbo traditional leadership in Bonny, and the fact that Crow's memoirs was more ancient than Crowther's writings, hence more reliable as a source of how things were. 13 Likes 1 Share |

All these claims of Ijaw land, just go and claim it physical, and not this much talk on Nairaland always. Go and claim them physical. Stop showing us lies created by ibos. Go and claim them physical. 2 Likes |

Alabo7978: Those same white men counted from one to ten in Igbo, and were correct. You are also writing your stuff here in the white man's language. You don't see anything wrong with that. But when they accurately tell us, based on their observation, that Bonny is Igbo territory, you want me to discount that, because they didn't claim it was Ijaw territory. You want me to believe Alagoa. Iyasikwa 14 Likes 2 Shares |

OfoIgbo:So you are having a hard-on because spiff was attacked? Crow wasn't a local, and he didn't know a thing about the kingdom. The people hated whites! Even Kula(a town) chased out the white men who landed there, but they still attached kula into brass, you see how misleading? Was it not Horton who even wrote that Nembe (an ijoh clan) is Igbo? Bro, a country or tribe are the ones who can tell their history and not some media lions seeking to gain money. Crowther was more accepted because he didn't come with a white skin. His reports quoted king pepple, But your white men report passively claims. Mr Man show me a testament. For the umpteenth time show me a testament. I showed you a testament, show me a testament. Search Wikipedia or Brittanica, those early works your other clowns are bringing up has long been discarded for their falsehood. |

Alabo7978: You must be a despicable fellow for quoting that Wikipedia here!!! The same Wikipedia were ijaw people are using to lay claims to Akwa-ibom using IPOB 2020 as their reference. I am excited this conversation is taking place. People will now begin to question the fictions they are used to, including all the ones on Wikipedia with either new references or no reference. This thread will help raise awareness and prevent expansionism. 13 Likes 1 Share |

Omanambala: Crowther's account DIDN'T favour him. It is like Ngwa people calling Bende people Umu Ogbo, while Bende people refer to themselves as Alai, item etc Look at it carefully, including the language dictionary @Ekealterego posted from the same book. The Bonny words(number 127 on the list) as translated there were PURE igbo words. Is none of you not surprised that in both Crow and Crowther's accounts, there hasn't been a single mention of Ijaw(the so called natives) in all those records. Perhaps they were so invisible the authors didn't take note of them. 19 Likes 2 Shares |

9Pluto: Yeah. They are all ijaw people. Ndoki leaders, have met with my boss General Ditari saying they are Ibani-Ijaw people and saying since they share borders with other Ijaws, they want to come with Ijaw Republic. They brought map of Aminadokiari (Ndoki) land too. The new Central Ijaw dialect being worked on in preparation for Ijaw Republic will set all things right for all Ijaws. God our Creator be my witness on all these things.. |

GreatBoss: Thanks for your submissions. I noticed that most of the names had Ama as suffix except for few that has it in between. However, I am interested in your so called Ama in Akwa-ibom which unlike the others the Ama is a prefix. We may soon need a thread on the, 'ijaws of Akwa-ibom'. As a side note, it would also be interesting to know the meaning of Amadi-Ama. 5 Likes 1 Share |
