yinkeys: Diego Forlán won the 2010 best player so why are you saying he deserves it when he won it ? James cannot with that award after leaving the tournament at the last 8 ,he wasn’t even top 3 best player Madrid didn’t destroy James and mourinho didn’t destroy Mikel ,know this and know peace |

yinkeys: This is not true. James stopped progressing after 2 seasons. This is not Madrid's fault... As a player in a big club, one needs to keep working harder or he will be left behind. 1 Like 1 Share |

elyte89: Thank you. When I think back of the coaches we have had and how they may have done better than some foreign coaches, it seems we are short changing ourselves. Musa Abdullahi who was the coach of the Atlanta 96 team. Bonfere was the tactician, even though he was head coach, but Musa Abdullahi was the man that got those boys ticking. His COJA team might be one of the fiercest team to wear the Nigerian jersey in a competition. They went the tournament to the finals without conceding a goal. We lost in the finals due to unpaid bonuses and poor treatment. But that man got that team playing ball. He also coached that Trinidad and Tobago U17 that was mean. Opabunmi, Temile, Akpan Bassey and others. That man could coach but never had the chance to coach the Super Eagles. When you think of Coach Monday Sinclair, Stephen Keshi, Fanny Amun, Amodu Shuaibu, Sylvanus Okpala, Kashimawo Laloko, and co. I believe we can do this if we have the passion to support our coaches. |

elyte89: A four-year contract with a sack clause in two years. If you do poorly in two years, you get sacked. If you meet the targets, you keep your job. If you do very well in four years, you get a renewed contract to serve a second term, still with a clause of two years failure can lead to termination. With this, a coach can not serve more than two years. This will bring in chances to give coaches their chances over the years. |

This our country and mishandling talents is heartbreaking. I remember one time, can't remember the year, 3SC had a match against Al Ahly of Egypt. It was a big game, but due to unpaid sign-on fees, bonuses, allowances, and salaries, the 3SC players went on strike for over a month. While 3SC players were on strike, Al Ahly went camping in Spain for that match. I think they were there for a month. A few days to play the match, the Ministry of Sports intervened. I think about four days. Paid the money owed and got the players to camp. They made an emergency appointment of Coach Fanny Amun to the impossible. Get those boys ready for a well-trained Al Ahly. When the match started, one player I still remember on that team was Baldwin Bazuaye (son of coach Willy Bazuaye who was part of the Atlanta coaching crew). Those boys gave Al Ahly the game of their lives. It came to a time 3SC was leading Al Ahly 2-1 but they were able to turn the game to their favor with some tactical switch. We lost 3-2. After the game, the Al Ahly coach said that if he had lost that game, he would have given up on hard work. What I am saying is that we have coaching talents but unfortunately, the NFF has a habit of sabotaging them for personal gains. We need to get it right soon. 7 Likes |

TheGoodJoe: Can't these coaches start from the league? If a coach can win the league like 2 times we give that coach the job. Why experiment with eagles? The current Ajax coach was Bayern B coach. I think he won the division two with Bayern B. Please amunike and co should go and show their worth in the league fess. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:Keshi wasn't an experiment though. He had coached an unsuccessful u20, but he succeeded big time with Togo and was ok with Mali. So Keshi came in with loads of experience after I think Siasia got fired. 3 Likes 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe: I never said we should experiment with foreigners please. Nigeria has this instant success syndrome that is killing local content. for me I'll say eagles should not go anywhere. I mean how can we be in port1 and still be praying to avoid Ghana or Mali? What's even the point going? We need to go back to the drawing board set a long term development plan, give coaches turns in division2 and see how they perform. Anyone that performs well consistently we send abroad for further training if necessary, after which we give them the super eagles job. The same thing with junior Nigeria teams, Instead of all this rush rush and fail. 1 Like |

teamoneline: Look at Gerard. He did his coaching badges and did well. Look at Xavi did his coaching badge and played one of the best footballs in Qatar. I believe footballing experience has a part. However, the likes of Amunike, Oliseh and Finidi also have some coaching to technical experience. I have always believed in using the National team for development. What I will advise is to send them on internship programs. Example, Amunike can go to work with Guardiola who is his former teammate at City for two to three months. See their latest methods and is good to go. I think the U17 should be enough criteria to show talent. After that internship and coaching. If they fail in two years, one-year failure should not mean sack. But two years, we let the next person in until we lad someone that gives us 8 years of further development. We are not getting the top coaches. Most whites landing here will be garbage. |

Utonwanne:Also not true of Eden Hazard I see Different clubs, different football philosophy Why do slightly above average players (Sanchez for example) shine in Arsenal but become trash in others(Man U) They play to coaches instructions rather than to the teams or players strengths @andrewbaba44 There’s a good reason Leicester won FA cup last season. |

TheGoodJoe: Do you know how many before xavi did there coaching badges and failed? Please that type of luxury is not available with national team or even junior teams. Going by what you said we would have to test for so many years just to land that xavi? C'mon. Let's use division two as a lab where we do the experiments and national teams as end product of successful experiments. |

If we don't get an official confirmation of Rohr sacking this week, forget it... He will be leading us to AFCON. It looks to me like the NFF will wait for him to fail at the AFCON so they can have a reason to terminate his contract without paying any of the compensation in the clause... Smart move... And if he end up succeeding at the AFCON, it could most likely come as a result of an improvement in his coaching style.... 8 Likes 1 Share |

Danielnino00:Meanwhile it seems Watford are having an injury crisis now with Sarr, Foster and Nkoulou out, Etebo has been out for a while too. I really pity the team and as Watford loves 9ja, I think we can repay the good faith by leaving Ekong for them during the afcon period. Ekong should stay back and help Watford, they need him more than us. We should be able to survive although it will be a big loss to us 2 Likes 1 Share |

AndSunGorilla: He should stay back and help Watford return to the championship .. On a serious note, Ekong doesn't look like he is improving much... Defenders usually get better with age, but that's not the same with Ekong... He is just bang average... That being said, who is next in line to him for the super eagles captainship? Omeruo? He can't be using his captainship to keep getting starting spots in the team... I love his vibes in camp and all, but performance wise, he need to take a bench break for now . |
